[00:00:08] Welcome to Crashing Game Night. My name is Matt Diario, your host as always. We've got the beanied one trying to pull his best Captain America attempting to lift mill near Gerard Pereira. What's up my nerds? That's right. That's right because he absorbed the hammer. That's right in the movies. It's so cool. That was a really cool detail. What up nerds? How's it going? Thank you for watching and thank you for hanging.
[00:00:39] What's up? How's it going boys? Our 3D printing guru over there, Fave Face One Theowalski. So since you brought up the Mjolnir thing, did we ever figure out the whole like elevator versus Mjolnir debacle? Like is an elevator worthy of lifting Mjolnir or? No. I think that had something to do with the space and the elevator. That doesn't count.
[00:01:09] It was going with the... It is, but it was going with the elevator. Yeah. That's a tough one. The elevator is a tough one. Last but not least, chilling out on the beach after he got his red stapler back and actually got his pina colada. We got the sun's out, guns out. Show them guns. We got the maitre d'us services, show them beef. The man with the palm tree today.
[00:01:39] The man, the myth, the legend, Jason Belletio. How's it going guys? How's it going? On location, you know, relaxing. Okay. My mind's hot, but it's okay. You know, we enjoy and we out here. It's hot. Okay. Yeah, it's actually a hot day in California, man. It's a hot day. It's not that it's hot. It's just that it's very... What counts is hot. You know? It's intriguing. True.
[00:02:10] I thought... Dude... I'm gonna get a little up-puzzle meat. Dio, let's preface this. What counts is hot? Los Angeles... Okay. ...was a high of 85 today. Okay. However, they were issued an extreme heat warning. Oh, man. Okay. Yeah. So... The...
[00:02:36] You know, that's partially gonna be because the real feel was a little up there. And tomorrow they're gonna be a nice balmy 92 degrees. So yeah, I guess the next... Ooh, that's what it is. I think it's the next couple days. We're gonna have a heat wave. Yeah. Yeah. It's not necessarily the temperatures are helping it. It's the fact that you guys are sitting at a 62% humidity right now. Yes, sir. That's why. Gross.
[00:03:07] Welcome... Welcome to my life. Yeah, so it gonna get a little hot. Because it is... So I mean, I guess we can officially say it's summer, dude. Yeah, finally. We finally... Yeah, I would say this is like the first... Like this is officially like the first heat wave we're probably getting for summer now. Which is kind of weird because it feels like... Well, for us... It's been so late.
[00:03:33] Here in Northern Virginia, it's gonna hit 99 Wednesday and Thursday. Yeah. And we'll have the humidity with it. So... Good thing my... Stay indoors, kids. Yeah, pretty much. So... Real quick, before we dive into everything, I got a couple things for Collectors Corner. Oh! Ooh! I know we talked about this on... I think the show last week?
[00:04:03] But, uh... De-tweeting. The Steelbook for The Division 2. Nice. And, uh... Because we will talk about it... Oh, nice. Tonight, look. It's got a physical disc. Wow. Oh my goodness. I wasn't shopping for a physical disc. A physical disc. Um... Also... Oh, the Spider-Man!
[00:04:34] Oh, the statue came in! The Spider-Man 1 collector's edition statue. Got a whole list. This was the one that they did where they released the statue later on. Yeah. In its own separate box and stuff that didn't have the game or anything with it. But man, this thing is so nice. Um... I'm glad they did that because I really liked the, uh... I really liked the first one. Oh yeah. The first statue.
[00:05:02] Finally, Hallmark released their new ornaments for this year. And this year for the gaming consoles is... The PlayStation. Nerd! I love it! Like... And if this doesn't... Do those make sound? It does make sound. I tried playing it for the guys before the show, but it... The mic doesn't pick it up. Oh, dang it.
[00:05:31] But... I will say this. You hit the power button, and it does the OG startup. Oh, that's cool! That's cool. Cause I think, uh... I think I told you there... There was, uh... I think I saw a Sega one. There's a Sega one that they did. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Had Sonic the Hedgehog for the cartridge. Right. And it did the Sega... Yeah, yeah. Um... They've done, uh...
[00:06:00] The Nintendo and the Super Nintendo, which I have both of those. And they've done an Xbox 360. Oh, 360. Yep. Oh, cool. Cool, cool. Um... So, yeah. So, I figured I would jump on this before it got sold out. Um... Because... Unlike the rest of the world, which we'll talk about, just because Sony's going to go all digital in the future, I'm still PlayStation. Still gonna play my games.
[00:06:30] So... Not gonna... You know, I love PlayStation. Been playing them since the beginning. So... Um... Anyways... Um... Jason... I am gonna do a little rewind for you. So we can get your opinion on something tonight. Yeah. Because you did miss us because you were doing husbandly duties and... Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Which was okay.
[00:06:59] It happens. Yeah. So... Um... So, a couple things. Um... I know we've talked about all the Microsoft bullshit happening, which... Um... Asha got... Appointed to a board within the Department of Labor to advise on jobs. I'm like, man... You... She just laid off... A shit ton of people. That's the right goal.
[00:07:27] And she's gonna be advising the Department of Labor on employment. That's the right goal. I'm sorry. Yeah. Like... After I saw that, I was like, man, dude. Fucking optics. I know. I get... I get that you have to cut costs somewhere, but... A little too soon. A little too soon. A little too soon. Yeah, right? Um... I'm sure they had it in the works beforehand. And they just weren't... Didn't have the balls enough to retract it. Still fucking optics, though.
[00:07:58] You know? Um... Anyways. But, um... As part of that, though... You know, it was... Uh... We didn't really get to talk about it too much in their statements. But, um... You know, Double Fine is now an independent studio. Uh... And, uh... Tim, I can't remember his last name. The head of, uh... Double Fine. Put out a statement and said, once again, Double Fine Productions will be an independent studio.
[00:08:27] We're thankful to everyone at Xbox for seven great years together and for working with us to reach an outcome which preserves our history and culture and returns ownership of our games to us. This is important. They are keeping the rights to all of their games. Um... To everyone who has reached out to us these past few weeks, thank you so much for all your kind words. We've been deeply touched by all your messages. We will share more news soon as on what comes next.
[00:08:57] Your continued support is greatly appreciated, Tim, and all at Double Fine. So, I love this for them. You know, I would have hated to see them go. You know, they've still... Although they were under the umbrella of Microsoft, they were still making indie-style games. You know, Psychonauts has been kind of most... Most critically acclaimed, so to speak, in terms that had kind of mainstream success. Jason, let's throw it out there. Bring it back. Bring back Brutal Legend, baby.
[00:09:27] Bring it back. You're independent. You need a franchise. Let's start it. Let's do it. It has potential to come back now. It has potential to come back. That's right. Jack Black, let's get it going. He'd be down for it. Oh, he totally would. Now, let me ask this. Do you want a Brutal Legends remake? No. Or... No. A sequel. So, I think this is an opportunity...
[00:09:59] So, I guess it would be a remake. Technically, I guess, because I think this would be an opportunity for them to kind of... Maybe do it a little fresh, and obviously it would have to be for the new consoles. So, because, I mean, Jason, technically that... That battle mechanic I don't think would work, and I don't think really... Yeah, no, it's still... It's much popular.
[00:10:27] Well, I mean, I don't know if that game mechanic will work. Yeah, no. It definitely will work. You think? If they do... One, if they do remake it, it would be fresher for, obviously, people that haven't been able to play it on literally the police. Everything, yeah. That's how long it's been. Yeah. So, you know, you're updating it for new consoles, and then at the same time, too, you can add a lot more.
[00:10:56] You can add a lot more... Well, that's true. Actually, you can throw a variety of, like, the inventory of things that you can summon. You can throw in a lot more detail because a lot of it is very, like, very rough and tough. I guess you're right because that's... Like, I guess the game itself is still pretty unique because you really haven't seen a game like that before.
[00:11:23] I mean, have you guys at least... Have you guys played it at all? Like, do you guys... Have you guys seen what... So, I know the game... Yeah, Jason. I haven't played it. Yeah. So, it's a very... It's a very... It's RTS. So, it's very similar to, like, Civilization, Starcraft, those kinds of games. Actually, a portion of the game is, yeah. Yeah. And so, a lot of that you'll be able to just enjoy, and then at the same time, too, you do have a hero that, you know,
[00:11:53] you're the one in control of it. One thing, if they... Like I said, if they do remake it, it's gonna be the same... I don't mind it being the same exact game. You add a little bit more for, like, content purposes. It's not a long game. It's not a big game where, like, people are going to be like, oh, this is an 80-hour game. No. Not even close. Like, the point of it is... No, it had a story. Like, yeah. It's the fun fight, the story. You know, it's very, very niche.
[00:12:24] It's very, very witty, too. But if you remake it, you can set up the new audiences for a second one. Yeah. That's what you're looking forward to. Because if you do make the second one, of course, you're not gonna... It's gonna be... It has to be a lot different. But you have different decades. You know? This is... Because that was the fun of it, too, is like the... It was like an 80s... Like, heavy metal and like... Heavy metal, glam rock. And like glam rock.
[00:12:53] Everything like 80s rock was about that game. And like... Yeah. And even, dude, Ozzy Osbourne, the lead singer of... Ace of Spades. Like, let's see. Who else was there? There was a lot. There was quite a few, like, predominant rock stars that were in the game and that, like... That had a really cool... Cameo.
[00:13:23] Or like, either cameo or they were a really cool kind of character in the game. Like, some of them were in the entire game. And that would be the fun of it. Like, especially in the sequel, like... Updating the roster for people who's out now, like, that would be sick. Yeah. Or you get into the 90s, you know? Because like... Oh, yeah. Yeah. Maybe it gets more grunge and like the whole world turns different or something. Yeah. You could probably get Nirvana up in it. You can get like...
[00:13:51] Dave Grohl could make a cameo. Yeah. Yeah. The Foo Fighters. Like, all that stuff. Like, it'll be... It'll lead... I would definitely recommend you guys, like, check it out on YouTube. Like, watch some gameplay. Yeah. But check out the story because it's very much like... If you guys... I think you guys like Jack Black. If you guys like Jack Black, you're gonna enjoy watching this game. Even...
[00:14:18] Even to the extent of just watching the game, like... Yeah, the jokes... Cinemas. It's... Yeah. It's fine. And it's fine. It's pretty sweet. That's why... If Double Fine does decide to do that now, that'd be... Oh, that'd be so awesome. That'd be a really good move in their part now that they're back to Indy. Yeah. Obviously, the hardest part is to get all the okays from like a lot of the music. Uh-huh. Because, you know, how music and DMCA is gonna be... Yeah. I'm sure that one was...
[00:14:48] I'm sure that was tough. Royalties. Yeah. All the royalties and stuff like that. But, I mean, you have like... I think... I think... Metal Singer or Metal Slayer. And... Like, they've been big and popular. So, like, a lot of metal is still there. I mean, it won't go away. And you're gonna have a solid game for one. If you want to remake it because people are in the remake zone right now. It's a perfect time for it to do it. And you have the second one.
[00:15:18] You're gonna have to... You're gonna have to get somebody that... A publisher for it. Right? To help. Like, you talked about doing the... I was gonna mention... It wouldn't be out of Double Fine's, like, move list to go to like a Kickstarter or a GoFundMe. Because they've done that before for a game.
[00:15:40] I think the sequel to Psychonauts or like the third game to Psychonauts or something was one of their GoFundMe crowd funders. So, I know they've done that in the past. So, and you know that community would definitely love it. Oh, dude. If they did anything like that and offered like whatever swag or like be part of the game, I would be down. Yeah. Not even. I mean, so...
[00:16:09] Actually, the fact of it being like, hey, like... Jerry, the game you're thinking of, it wasn't Psychonauts. It was actually two games. So, they had Massive Chalice in 2013 and Broken Age in 2012. Maybe it was Broken Age that I was... Yeah. Everything else has been... Looks like actually... No, you are right. Psychonauts 2, it wasn't Kickstartered.
[00:16:35] It was done under the crowd funding platform Fig. Oh, okay. Maybe that... Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. Yeah. Early. But yeah, so along with that, Compulsion, who is the makers of Contrast, We Happy Few, and South of Midnight, they got their full independence as well.
[00:17:02] And are retaining their rights to all three of the games. Nice. So far. Of course. Their statement, they put out... Compulsion Games returning to its roots as an independent developer. We are expanding opportunities to collaborate with studios across the games and entertainment industry. Which this is important because in the beginning, they were kind of like a support studio. They would help out other studios.
[00:17:31] And then they made Contrast. Then they made We Happy Few. And then, you know, of course they were underneath the Microsoft umbrella. Went on to do South of Midnight for them. We invite partners to leverage the talent and creativity of the award winning team behind South of Midnight. A game that was honored with a BAFTA award, a Peabody award, seven Canadian game awards, and recognized as on multiple best games of 2025 lists.
[00:17:57] Which that still baffles me that Microsoft wanted to close a studio where you had that much critical acclaim for a game. Just because they decided to put it on Game Pass and tank the amount of money they were going to make off the game. But with deep experience in creating acclaimed original IP... I'm not saying a thing. ...our artistry, technical expertise, and collaborative approach to every project.
[00:18:21] We are excited to support the development of memorable experiences that engage and entertain players around the world. So congratulations, Compulsive Games. I love the fact that they're continuing on. Absolutely good for them. I'm going to pick up... I'm going to pick up... I'm going to pick up South by Midnight.
[00:18:45] And I'm very excited for them to venture on and continue doing their own original content. I think they're going to show Xbox. I hope they show Xbox. Absolutely. That this was a mistake. And I think they have a lot of promise. Especially with the games they've come out. Like you just listed, dude. It doesn't make sense. I can attest to Contrast and South of Midnight. Right?
[00:19:15] So Contrast, which came out the beginning of the PS4 life cycle, was fantastic. It touched on loss and everything in a very unique way to help people deal with that type of grief. And then you've got South of Midnight, which I couldn't even tell you what happened at the end of the game. But like, when you play the entire game... It's a bit open-ended.
[00:19:44] It's open for your interpretation, which is very cool. Like, that's why the game is as successful as it is. Yeah. And that's why you got me excited to want to play it too. That's why I want to try it as well. It felt a lot like Alice in Wonderland. It's like, for Alice, did she really go down the rabbit hole? Or was she just dreaming? No. You know, those types of things. Tripping on shrooms.
[00:20:11] I mean, the caterpillar is smoking a hookah, which... Hookahs were originally... Supposedly a very colorful world. Yes, it is. So... That is true. So that's great news for them. Avoiding layoffs.
[00:20:35] However, a game that Jerry and I have been playing, we'll talk about it in what we've been playing a little bit. But Ubisoft Barcelona has gone on strike. Because the second Black Flag Resync was launched, 51 employees were laid off. Yep. Or about to be laid off, rather.
[00:20:58] So the studios decided to go on strike because they are unionized as part of the CSVI union there in Barcelona. It's the Coordidora Sindical del Video Huego. Say it again? Oh, the what? Yeah.
[00:21:20] I don't remember enough of my Spanish conjugations, especially for Spain Spanish, which is different than the Spanish that's taught in schools. So... I just wanted to give a free lesson on Spanglish for a quick second. No, I mean it is... I will share my screen and I will show you that I...
[00:21:46] It really is Coorden Adora Sindical del Video Huego. But... Oh yeah. But... Um... But they are, they're trying to go back to, you know, um, all the proposed layoffs being canceled. They want to go back to 60% work remote policy. And then, um, they want previously promised promotions and raises, uh, granted.
[00:22:16] And then they want stronger job security. Now, Jerry and I were talking about this offline the other night when we were playing, playing together. Um, he was off on his adventure. I was on mine and it was kind of great us going back and forth on like how we were killing everybody.
[00:22:36] But, um, yes, there's layoffs, but what we haven't heard is were these already planned because, hey, these are all contracted employees, right? To, to come in and do Black Flag and then they're done, right? Yeah. And then they're just laid off afterwards. They haven't said specifically what those layoffs are coming from. So, for me, I'm, I get where some of these are coming from.
[00:23:02] However, that being said, I'm reserving judgment on this particular piece until we get more information on what those layoffs were. Now, if these layoffs weren't from the employees that were brought in specifically for the game, then it would be, what the hell? Like... Yeah. Seriously. Like, how about you just budget correctly for a game, bring in the people you need and don't lay them off. So...
[00:23:32] Because these, these game designers did an absolute amazing job with Black Flag. Resync. Oh, yeah. Yeah. But like, like we said, we don't know if they were contractors who were released for just being contracted under the game. So, you know, once we get more information, we'll, we'll see.
[00:23:58] We, we hope it, we hope that is the, um, uh, that is the reason. And right after they release a successful game and they fire a good portion of employees, we are hoping that is not the case. Uh, cause that just looks really bad. And, uh, yeah. Yeah. So... All right. In, uh, Spanish words, no bueno. Jason. No bueno. Yeah.
[00:24:28] All right. We didn't get Jason's opinion on this last week. Um, Theo and Jerry had some guesses on how Jason would think this month was, but Jason, this month's PlayStation Plus games are Modern Warfare 3, For the King 2, and CrossCode. How do you feel about it?
[00:24:50] So, obviously the big one that we're all staring at, obviously, Modern Warfare 3, you know, that is the, that's actually a bang. Like it's a banger. Like, I don't care. I've never played any, like any of the Call of Duties, you know, but it's still a banger. It, the, the more important thing is that it's cross-gen. That's the most important thing.
[00:25:15] Like, this is going to be, this might be the start of the, let's try to get games together to push more of the game. You know? Revive whatever it may be. Call of Duty, if this is your way of reviving yourself to like be on both platforms, that might be it, you know? Because then you'll, you'll, you don't exclude one, you don't exclude the other. Yeah. You know?
[00:25:42] So that, I think this, obviously that is the, the game that you're going to get this month, CrossCode for the King. Uh, both of them are like more indie game or side, side piece games. I, I want to check out CrossCode. Uh, just cause I think it's, I think it's like a puzzle strategy. Uh, it's actually a RPG. Like it's, uh, it's a 16-bit style. 2D, 2D, 2D RPG. That's right. Yeah.
[00:26:12] Yep. Reminded me of like, okay. Like, like Chrono Trigger and those are the back of an A. Yeah. Yeah. I want to take a look at it. I think I've already picked that up, uh, on the library. Uh, for the King, I, again, Indy, Indy. So it's for the King 2. So obviously they added a for the King 1. No idea. Correct.
[00:26:38] So I, I'm not, I'm not, I wouldn't be, but like I said, uh, the main point, this one is going to be for sure, uh, all duty and it'll be, I feel that it's safe enough. To get through for another month. I think August will be the same. There's going to be like a safe game that I'm, I'm surprised they didn't do FIFA.
[00:27:08] Given that this is the world cup. I mean, I think people was earlier in the year though. Yeah. I think they may have already given it to us. Yeah. I think it was earlier in the year. Uh, but anyways, it's okay. Um, I think the biggest thing is that they're going to play safe with the next few, like this month, August, even September. It's going to be safe. October. I think it's going to be a throwaway.
[00:27:36] Uh, just because obviously everybody's just sent us bidding. Like we are getting games that you could pick one major game up and now we'll see if you want. So you guys are right. They did, uh, they did do EA sports FC 26. Uh, earlier, earlier in the year. Right.
[00:28:01] So I don't know if FIFA, FIFA is no longer the title anymore. It's now EA sports FC 26. So football club, because, uh, FIFA removed, uh, pulled the license. Football club. Yeah. Football club. And I know, I know pollution soccer is no longer, uh, no longer. Oh yeah. That's gone. Yeah.
[00:28:25] Um, so now we were missed to, you know, we're always balanced on this. So we're going to knock Sony for their, for their changes and policies that are negatively impacting. Um, but you know, last week we got the announcement that they're going to be going to disc lists come January 1st of 2028. Like 16 months in advance.
[00:28:55] Something 20 months in advance, you know, um, which honestly, here's my thing is I've been looking at social media a lot and some of the people I've, I follow, I'm also friends with on PlayStation network. And I just want to say like, I get people are upset for it, but stop doing rage bait bullshit.
[00:29:20] Because all these people are saying we're, we're going, we're, we're so pissed at Sony F you for getting rid of discs. Um, you know, I'm never going to support you again, but I go, look, guess what they're playing. Don't sit there and say, you're going to get rid of all your stuff, but then behind the scenes, play, just play it. Right.
[00:29:46] That's just rage bait because let's have, I think what we need is honest conversations. We talk about this all the time, Jerry and I, you, you and I were talking about this on a different subject, but I think let's sit down and talk about things instead of just rage bait it and then do the exact opposite. Cause that's exactly what we see happening in a lot of places. Right.
[00:30:07] Um, instead of rage baiting, you know, uh, uh, you know, make up a petition, you know, if you really, if you really want to try and make some sort of, okay. Like, or promote the petition, like make some actual change. If that's what you care about, like just rage baiting and getting people pissed off for no reason. Exactly. Because there's no point. Like, don't say F you to a company.
[00:30:31] I'm never going to support you again, but at the same time as you're playing on their hardware, if you're really not going to support a company at all, you'd be trading in your money where your mouth is, you're trading in your hardware. Like we know, and we know for a fact that some of these people are never going to get rid of their PlayStation stuff because honestly, PlayStation invented them, so to speak and help them get where they're at now.
[00:30:57] So, um, it's like me and Jerry, uh, and I've, you, you guys know all along, all throughout the podcast for many, many years that both me and Jerry are very adamant having physical discs, you know, here. And Theo and I are on the digital side. I know you guys want, I know, I know you missed it out last week that I wasn't here, but you
[00:31:21] know, I'll throw my two cents into the pot, you know, this, this I've, I've seen coming. I've seen this coming. We've all said this. Yeah. We've all seen this come. The problem is not the fact that it's going disblest. The problem is the after effects of going disblest. So mom and pops, mom and pops are gone.
[00:31:45] Book off or any like secondary shops that you guys get it at gone game stock going to be bankrupt. Now there is no hope for them. There's no hope at all for them to survive because we would go in and go get those. Or if you wanted to trade in a game, if you don't like a game now, you're screwed.
[00:32:08] You know, you have to, you have to wait for it to either like go down in price to grab it or watch somebody play it or like go on blind faith or be a big, like a cult follower of it. You know, like for, for me, for example, if a final fantasy comes out and yeah, I'm going to buy it is a good, is the worst one ever.
[00:32:34] But you know, you get, you get thrown into it and you get through the final fantasy 13 lightning returns out of this. Okay. No, no, no, no. I'm just, I'm just saying, I'm just saying though, in case of, you know, there have been bad ones. Yes. Oh yeah. But that's not like, what was it? If you get thrown in or whatever.
[00:32:56] Yeah. But, but now you get thrown in and you have to commit $80 to a game that you may or may not like, or that is may or may not be buggy as hell. Can you imagine a Sony player getting like something like red phone, you know, boom, $80 is gone.
[00:33:17] Like not even like slap in the face, you know, that is just Sony just like, give me your money, you know, and you also go away on all the, like the distributors, like the, the ones that sell the games, you know, those people are going to be out of jobs. Now those people, so the whole ecosystem kind of falls apart. And that's where I'm kind of like worried about more so because now, Oh yeah.
[00:33:44] It goes straight to the, well, straight to Sony, go straight to the developer. Yeah. You brought up a great point, Jay. Cause like before you kind of keep going off your tangent, I do want to talk about the one thing that you did bring up is like the price on the store. And Sony right now is getting sued over in the Netherlands for 500 or $457 million.
[00:34:08] And it is based on the fact is that they believe that it's going to be anti-consumer now for getting rid of the physical discs because of the pricing, you know, Sony originally their defense over in the, over in Europe and everything was that, Hey, yes, we price it at this price. On the store, but if it's too much for, for somebody, Hey, they can go to a mom and pop store and go buy it.
[00:34:37] Now they're the, the crux. This lawsuit is now is while you're getting rid of the discs. So now they're basically, you know, looking at it when you look at like Yahoo finance, which is, this is, you can go look at all the information about the lawsuit online. It's multiple sources. Fortune magazine has been reporting on it. Um, is that Sony's kind of like undercut thrown defense.
[00:35:03] Now it's like, well, you're not gonna be able to go buy it on disc anymore. Um, and I think it's, we've, we've all seen this coming, especially when they do collector's editions and there's a download code. Right. Cause ghost of Shishima did that. Um, I just, I, I kind of wish that they, they did a better transition instead of just announcing, uh, Hey, you got, you got, you got about a year.
[00:35:32] Like I would have continued on if, uh, like I would have done a slow transition. How about they continue on? And then eventually they want to phase out physical. Uh, you have the choice of purchasing the physical online and you have to pick it up. That's the only way you can do it. And then eventually it's done or something like that. But it, this kind of like, here's my thought.
[00:35:58] It kind of sucks because the prematurity, like Jason said, screws up so much more in the backend. Here's my, here's my two cents on what I think would be a kind of a comment, like a middle ground. I mean, nobody's going to be, nobody's going to be happy by what the outcome of this is going to be right. No matter like the only ones that are, they're only going to be happy if they get their way and there's physical discs for the rest of time, which we know that's, that's not going to happen.
[00:36:29] Right. Right. Is that I think for the entirety of the rest of the PlayStation five life cycle, whatever's left. Okay. All the way up until that last PS five rolls off the production line and studios stop making games for it is PS five games should remain physical and digital. Okay. You have your choices. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:37:00] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Keep exactly. Keep PS five. Oh, uh, the last physical generation. And PS six last week. It's just probably there's doing it in phases for their announcements. Like they're definitely not going to announce PS six right now. No, no, right. You can't afford it. There's nobody's gonna be able to afford it. Now.
[00:37:30] One thing I think could make people happy is you do something similar to what, um, Xbox is rumored to be doing, which was, I disagree. You use your disc to give your, you get the, the digital license for it. And then therefore license, Tom, it's a permanent night license. Well, hold on though.
[00:37:56] We'll, we'll talk about what Xbox soon, but I'm thinking like the physical, if you have own a physical disc, right? So say uncharted, right? You put it in your system. It links up to the system that you own the game and you get the digital license. That way you're able to play it on your PS six. Okay. Once the PS six goes all digital, but the problem is, is that what Xbox is doing is they're doing that. They're rumoring to be doing that.
[00:38:24] But here's the kicker is you can't trade in that game. Once you do it, no, it's a permanent license. Right. Is that if you're account forever? Well, but if that disc is traded in and somebody launches that disc in their system, your license for that game disappears. As it should. If it, if that's the way that's going to work. Oh, okay, cool.
[00:38:53] So you can still technically, there's still, there's still a use for them after. I don't know. That's still kind of, that's kind of sketchy. Here's the scenario. That's super sketchy. I have an Xbox series. I don't think that's, I don't, I think that's still rumor. I don't think that's accurate. Yeah. We don't know the full details. What's been coming out in leaks and rumors is that how it's going to work is say I have a series X with a disc drive.
[00:39:20] I'm going to take my copy of Halo, Halo Infinite. I'm going to put it in the Xbox series X. It's going to read the disc. It's going to say, cool. I'm going to grant you the full on permanent digital license on your, on your account. This disc, this very, very specific disc is now linked to your account, but you can play it digitally. You don't need to actually put the disc in the console.
[00:39:50] Right. Now, part of the rumor that's come out is, is that now that said disc, you cannot trade in. Because if you trade in and that disc is fired up in somebody else's system, your license is gone. Which it should be because it's the same thing as trading in the disc. Yeah. Correct. It's the same exact motion. So that's how that's going to work.
[00:40:16] So it's like, I think you're going to have to try and find out like a happy spot, happy medium, but at the same time as. That makes no sense for me to, the, for them to even announce that because they're, if that, if that's accurate, they're copying PlayStation as it is now with the discs being the license. They're just going at about it as slightly because they're doing it by account, but they're still linking the license to the disc.
[00:40:44] No matter what I'm doing though. So that's how Xbox games have been working for. Oh, so, so it's still the same as anything. So they're just trying to, if that's. Yeah. They're just rephrasing. They're just rephrasing. It's a market ploy. Yeah. And just trying to hide the fact that discs have never been the game. It's always been a license key.
[00:41:07] Well, and that's the, that's the thing is, and I did, I did some digging because somebody on online, when I brought up, Hey, this has just been a license key. Um, they're saying there's a, a doctrine first sale doctrine or something like that, that applies to like movies and CDs.
[00:41:27] And it applies to games that, you know, licensing agreements don't affect your purchase of a game that you actually own it, which you don't because I actually went on to Sony's website and poll. There's, there's a difference between licensing agreements and terms of service. Yeah. Correct. One. The first, the former is agreed upon on the company. This, the latter is agreed upon on by the user.
[00:41:55] So the licensing agreement now. So the PlayStation software application and user licensing agreement or license agreement, which this is Nintendo's got something similar on the switch because months ago, remember I pulled up my switch and I read it verbatim right off my switch, but section 1.4. It says the license to you, the software is licensed to you, not sold.
[00:42:25] You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and personal license to play or use the software for your private non-commercial use on the system or device. It was intended for. So this is what you agree to when you fire up your games. Like a lot of people just bypass it, you know, case in point, like every time there's a division update, you fire it up. It has the end licensing to agree to this.
[00:42:53] And half the time you just click OK and bypass it. So you clicking OK that you agree to that when you start up your game binds you to this licensing agreement. So. This is where it's been just license keys. It's not permanent. You know, and I think. Pretty sure you sign up for that when you sign up for an account. Correct. Yeah. It's regardless of the game.
[00:43:19] You just because you know that being said, though, I think for me is and I would absolutely agree with with Jason. I agree with with Jerry on this is that the damage is going to come from what it does to the mom and pop stores. It's going to come from, hey, you know, Johnny down the street can't afford $80. He's got to save up so much time, you know, his allowance and everything that, you know, he can get a used copy for like 20 bucks versus 80. Right.
[00:43:47] And that's that's really the exposure to the game. The newer games going physical is really the lifeline for the mom and pops, because, yes, the argument can can be said for the mom and pop shops. Oh, well, they're just going to be more retro. They'll sell like the older stuff. That's really only if retro stays alive. Yeah. You know, we know.
[00:44:14] The store is not strong enough in order to make a company thrive. Exactly. Or a storefront to continue thriving unless there was a real kind of, I would say, demand or like, I don't know, kind of niche demand where I think there's always going to be some sort of need for retro. But now you can get it in so many other ways online or even even at like major storefronts.
[00:44:42] I think the problem with retro that's going to hurt the mom and pop, which sucks because is that, you know, you look at GameStop, which they've dove into the retro. Right. Is if you want retro to be. Take it seriously. I think the prices. Yeah. And that's a problem, too. You can't because. Because. Because here's the thing is, though, I get that.
[00:45:12] But why should I be paying $180 for a Wii U right now? Oh, totally. Like a PS2, $160. You know, $179.99 for a Wii 2 for a 32 gig. $160 for a PS2. Like $110 for a Wii. You know, you go in, you look at PS3 consoles.
[00:45:39] They want $150 for the $160 slims. They want $140 for the $250 ultra slims. $130 for the George Foreman's. You know. I showed it to the guys last week, Jay. People seriously turned the PS3 into George Foreman's. Yeah, dude. And this is like another big thing, too.
[00:46:06] And like I said, what if you get a game that you really just do not like? You know, can you return it? No. You're done. Was it a DS or a 3DS that you traded it and got a stupid price for? 3DS. 3DS. Okay. 3DS XL. To be precise. So they're selling a 3DS XL for $310. At this point for $300, I might as well just go buy the Switch.
[00:46:36] Yeah. Yeah. At that point. You know, so at this point, right? $130 for a 2DS. Okay. That's not terrible because it's only about 50 bucks higher than what they were selling for originally when they first came out. So it's not terrible, but at the same time is. Still higher. Retro doesn't. Just because it's retro doesn't mean it should be automatically inflated in price because somebody wants to go in and play a game from like 20 years ago.
[00:47:07] Right. You know, I mean 310 for a 3DS XL. Are you absolutely out of your mind? They didn't even think. That's insane. Like when it came out, it wasn't even $300. Correct. Remember that it wasn't even 300 when it came out. So automatically inflated prices. But you gotta still keep in mind the time difference with those prices, with a matter of inflation and everything too. Yes. So you're telling me. That's true.
[00:47:35] But at the same time, like when it did come out, like you're paying $150. $200 for the 3DS XL at launch in 2015. Okay. So you're telling me now it's worth $310. I didn't say it's worth $300. But I'm just saying that you can't say that an MSRP price, a supposed MSRP price now for 3DS is not going to be equal to what it was 10 years ago.
[00:48:02] But I think it's funny as you come look at the Dreamcast ahead of its time, chef's kiss to the system. Yeah. 120 bucks. That's not bad because the bundles for those were like a hundred bucks. Yeah. You know, where you got the console and it came with a game and whatnot. So. But then again, you have to find the games for it. Remember, you have to find the games. Correct. It's not like you can go on your, go on the virtual store and pick these games up. No, you have to find the physical game for it.
[00:48:30] I mean, for Saturn, 140 bucks. Difficult. Not bad. You know, for a Saturn because a Saturn ran about a hundred bucks or so at launch. I do a lot of like thrifting. Are you still comparing it to new prices? These are used items. Yeah, these are exactly. But again, finding the game. I have searched five years so far for a game because it's, it's not in print. It's a Sega Genesis game.
[00:48:58] Like I found one and it was going to cost me $90. I mean, for one Sega Genesis game. What game? Shining Force. Okay. With, with, with, with boxing. And I was like, honestly, I was kind of, I was, I was, I was on the fence of actually getting it. But $90 for a Sega Genesis game.
[00:49:21] You know, that's, you're paying a full price nowadays game for a game that's 30, like 20 plus years. They want, they want $70 for the console. I mean, I kind of get it for the OG, but that's not terrible there. But like, you know, that's still ridiculous for used OG products. Yeah.
[00:49:45] Like how, like how many, I mean, like 160 bucks for a PS2 and owed like the slim or the original PS2, $160. No, don't look at the consoles. Look at the game. Look at the games. How much of the games? Because remember, you can't, you can't download these games. You have to find the physical game. That's where they're going to get you. That's where they're going to just because I, I could, I could, I can find.
[00:50:14] I can find console. I can find console to left for dead too, for the three 60 at $50. Yeah. That's insane for three 60. That's insane. Wow. So look at some of these dreamcasts, like $40, like some of the rest of them, like five bucks. Cool. Like two K's two K's are $10.
[00:50:38] This is, this is back when, but let's be honest, the two K generation on the dreamcast is what gave EA a run for their money. But again, two K's, these are two K games. Yeah. Two K to, you know, five bucks, six, whatever. Something that's like more Sonic adventure for 40. Sonic adventure to look at that. Look at that. Sonic adventure. You see that one there next to it? Mm-hmm. 120 bucks. Marvel vs. Capcom 2. How much is that?
[00:51:08] Oh, don't even, don't even. I mean, look at this. Soul caliber. 25. Coach Veronica, 30. 80 bucks. Dang. 80 bucks for NBC2. Yeah. 100 and 110 for RE2. RE2. Wow. Wow. You have to buy the game. You have to buy the game. Good. And that's the other thing. Like now it looks like going retro. That's going to be expensive too. That's an expensive hobby now. Yeah.
[00:51:40] Cause like you said, Jason, you have to go for the physical games. Cause it's a different time. You can download all your games. Wow. You guys probably agree that it's not, it's no longer a matter of nostalgia or playing the game. Fantasy start online for 25. Yeah. It's collecting. It's collectors. It's scalpers. That's what it is. That's why the prices are up. I would also say, yeah, I would also say collectors, but I would also say there's going
[00:52:06] to be, I think that sub market of people who, who are maybe turned off at the, of, of, uh, having to upgrade or having to save up for the newer console. And maybe they see the appeal of, I'm going to go to an older generation. I'm going to try this out. All the games are out. They may think it's easier to, to find them now since they're not in demand, but they're
[00:52:32] going to find out that, you know, so look at the average person for that scenario already owns the old shit and just stuck with it. Yeah. 45 for the, I'm saying in regards to like, if they, if they're starting off fresh and they don't want to save up for the expensive new console and they think, Oh, I'm going to go retro. But I, I'm just saying, I think they're in for a surprise where that's also going to
[00:52:58] be an expensive hobby, uh, you know, on that side as well. That's Bob. It's definitely because you have to get a CRT TV to remember that. Here you go, Jay. The hookups. $45 for shining force 60 for shining force two. Yeah. And look at that $200 for shining force 30. Yeah. 200 for the Saturn. Yeah. That's unfortunate.
[00:53:24] Cause it, you know, I would, I would hope it would be the, the reverse where, you know, if someone, the further you get out from the, the cheaper they should be. It really should. Exactly. But. But now this, this doesn't leave, this doesn't leave that average consumer who, you know, maybe can't afford or would have to save for that new console. You know, the other flip side, you know, they don't have a choice. They either way, they have to wait and save even if they wanted to go retro.
[00:53:54] Cause it's almost just as expensive. Yeah. Yeah. You can't, you can't go retro. You can't go retro anymore. And that's what mom and pops. That sucks. That sucks. At the same time. That's all they can tell now because you're going to, if you're going to have digital everything, I mean, 40 for Luigi's mansion on the 3ds. Like, and isn't that going to suck too? Cause like, that's like, that's a big decision for someone to have to make.
[00:54:22] Cause that's, I mean, ultimately you have to make the decision. What am I going to invest in for a while? Cause I still feel like primarily that we're just kind of arguing that it's still a collector's market. Like there's a lot of collectors markets. Like, let's sit, let's reframe this. Yeah. Let's reframe this topic, whether it be Pokemon or baseball cards or whatever.
[00:54:46] How would you feel like if you had a rookie Babe Ruth and it was still 20 cents because that's what it was back in the day, even though it's out of print. Like, I mean, you, you've got games that are not going to exist anymore and you're not going to find anymore. So I mean, the prices are going to go up because of it. Of course. Yeah. But so what I want to ask is, does the, um, forum play a factor since you're talking about
[00:55:16] collector cards and this is an interactive, uh, like gaming console. I feel like that it's still a collector's item. Okay. It's still, it's still something that is no longer available readily available, but there is a demand. So if you're searching for it, you're going to raise up the price in order to be able to find it because you're going to have your limited options in order to do it because there's limited options. You're going to pay out the, out the ass for it.
[00:55:45] And because of that, you're creating a collector's market and then that's going to just raise up everybody's prices. Mm hmm. I get what, what, what, what it will. This is what it's circling back to is that now that there's no longer going to be a physical copy of a PlayStation five game. Yeah. And so many for C PlayStation five games that are still on disc, going to skyrocket in five years.
[00:56:12] But also it's, it's not, I agree on that. It's not that like, Oh, how much is it going to be in order to grab it? It's now that the current market that where we have 80 of our games, how popular it's going to be in order to get any of that. And if it's really going to be just about the games, you're going to be just enticed to
[00:56:40] go into the current services in order to do that. So Xbox game pass, they got the retro games digitized PlayStation plus Nintendo has their game boy. I can, I can definitely see that happening too. Like, Oh, I'm going to, I'm going to sign up for like a week. I want to try out these games if I want to buy them or that's the only cheap way. Yeah. So this is going to prove that digitized is going to be cheaper than physical moving forward.
[00:57:10] You know, that hurts. But if they want to bring out some of those games and make them available, that's a no, no, that's true. It's true. It's going to get a lot of people that are current just base level members to the like the high level ones. So then it can get right. Because PlayStation does that in order to do more retro. You have to pay more. Yep. Yes.
[00:57:37] So it is going to drive more people going from the base level to the gold level. The premium or whatever it's called right now. Yeah. The high level. Or instead of being on a, on the subscription pass at least, or give me the option to buy it. Cause like the Jack and Daxter games, you can buy those separately. I could buy it. It's available digitally on their services that you should be able to purchase it digitally. Correct. It just doesn't there.
[00:58:06] I guess they'd have to put it, make sure that they put it in their terms of services and user end user license agreement that you can have the chance to lose it still. When you purchase it, you're not actually purchasing it digitally. Um, no, the only ones I could see that they're not going to do would be PS3 games from PlayStation perspective, because they haven't gotten the emulator software fully running on. And I was going to say, isn't that one like the hardest to fricking replicate?
[00:58:34] It is because of the cell processor. Cause it was completely, it was designed outside of a normal chip process. Thanks IBM. Um, it was $600 on release. Yes. That hurt. Yeah. That was a birthday and, uh, all of my birthday and a Christmas present for one year. When I got my PS3. Yeah.
[00:59:04] No, my, my, mine was, mine was two years. No way. Yeah. Two years. Two years. Oh yeah. Mine. I think I didn't get mine for like two years. I didn't get the job. I sold. I sold a ton of them at my blockbuster because my store was like, basically like had the games. You sold them at the blockbuster? Yes.
[00:59:31] So blockbusters, there was a few. They never sold it. They only rented the systems. No. So there was a few blockbusters out there that sold Xboxes and PlayStations. So being that I was a huge gamer and so was like three quarters of my staff. Um, we used my store as a test bed within Northern Colorado districts. So I sold both, both versions of the PlayStation bundles. Plus I sold three sixties.
[01:00:02] I ended up pissing off GameStop across the street in the mall because we stole a lot of their pre-orders because I can also pre-order games. Um, but yeah, you'd have people coming in because at the time as well as blockbuster was diving like dipping their toe into electronics, like doing like little surround sound systems in a box. They were doing Blu-ray players. So Blu-ray players, we all know how high those were price wise back then.
[01:00:28] I was like, they're like, what was the best one out there? I was like, honestly for the price, just get the PlayStation bundle. Your kids are gonna have a game system. You're gonna have a Blu-ray player instead of just this. So, but yeah, I remember the, I remember the, the Spider-Man bundle very well back then. So, um, I do want to, you know, see what everybody's comments are, you know, as far as this goes,
[01:00:56] I am going to preface this though, please let's try and leave the hate comments, the screw Sony over the disc list stuff off the comments. So make it productive, please. If you're going to make a comment, but just kind of what your opinions are, especially where's retro going to go from here. So, uh, with that Jason, what you've been playing, what you've been watching?
[01:01:20] Uh, I have been watching weekly now, uh, chain smoker cat. I don't know if you guys seen it on that. Yeah. It's on Netflix. It's a, it's a, it's a hilarious. It's a, it's a very crude anime, but it's hilarious. Oh, I literally been watching it week by week. Um, right now chain smoker cat. I'm going to look that up. That is that, that piques the curiosity too much.
[01:01:49] It's so ridiculous, but it's, it's a funny, it's crude. It's got like stupid. At least it's anthropomorphic. Yeah. It's got, it's got, it's got a lot of cat girl. It's not literally a animated cat. Yeah. Uh, been watching that. Oh, okay. I'm at the end of nine souls. And I have like two or three bosses to go. Um, but, but then, uh, Ronan, uh, um,
[01:02:18] my wife has been, uh, finishing up a Resident Evil nine. So I think she's near the end of the ice. So, I mean, like we're finally like playing a lot of games or finishing games up. Uh, you know, what was my like one hour of like awake time and I'm not at work. Uh, I just been trying to get those, uh, get those good done.
[01:02:44] You know, I'm starting to just try to try to just finish something now. Cause like, it's just been a while. I have so many games that are so backlogged that not even looking into the future of what is coming out. Uh, like we haven't even picked a black flag, like that's how far back. So, um, yeah, no, I know she's all about that too. She really wants to pick that up.
[01:03:12] Um, other than that though, like those two, and then obviously I play my own moves to me, you know, like on my break time, my breaks is quick 15 minutes. Like, all right, play a little bit. Uh, done. Nice. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. Theo, what have you been up to? What have you been playing? What have you been watching? Give me something to watch. I need, I need, I need a series to watch or something.
[01:03:38] Uh, late recently I started, uh, on prime video, uh, from an old, uh, uh, country bumpkin to sword master. Uh, which is pretty good. It's, it's, uh, it's following one of those where it's like the protagonist is not aware of his skill that he's overpowered technically, but he doesn't know it.
[01:04:08] Um, it's one of those as well as it's a little bit of a harem because all of his older or ex female students have grown up and they all want him. Um, even though he's like 20 years older than him, than them, but it's so far, it's pretty fun. It, it, it, I, I like the, um, the protagonist being completely oblivious to what's going on around him.
[01:04:36] Uh, I like those kinds of kinds of shows just like, uh, like Mashal as being one. Uh, so it was pretty good. Uh, I actually have not been playing anything recently. Uh, so it's just kind of been organizing, just trying to get things less overwhelming in my life. Uh, so just trying to take things day at a time, I guess. Getting things organized.
[01:05:06] Uh, let's see, uh, black flag that, that took over. So that's going to be the game for, for a minute. Um, uh, Jason, I got your next red dead. Yeah. You're going to play it. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I I'm probably gonna play it a second go around, do a new game plus with like whatever I unlock, but that'll be purely like story. Like right now I'm, I'm, uh, kind of pulling a mat.
[01:05:35] I'm like, uh, getting my areas done as I go to an extent and then, you know, hitting up the story, but, uh, I'm pretty far in the story now, but, uh, I'm really enjoying it and Jason many side quests. I I'm just not doing like the, like the naval contracts and the assassin contracts, but I'm, I'm collecting everything else on the map, everything else. That's a collectible.
[01:06:02] I'm going to get like, and the hunting and everything, but, um, Jason, I gotta, I gotta show for you. If, if, uh, you're down, it's called sugar. I've been watching that with Colin Farrell. He's a private detective and it's a, the first season. I don't know about the second season, but the first season is a very like, um, uh, uh, uh, 40s detective noir. It's an Apple TV show. Yeah.
[01:06:32] But, but it's not, but it's a set in current day. It's just the, Oh, okay. It's all right. It's Jason. It's Apple at Apple TV. Oh, you. Oh, I gotcha. My bad. My bad. It's just, it's just that you don't have access to it. I got, I got one. Yeah. It's the access that he can't watch it. Like, Nope. I getcha. Okay. All right. All right.
[01:07:01] How about, uh, I know it's Marvel, but X-Men 97 season two. Oh yeah. So good. I got to find a Disney plus. I got to find a Disney plus. Oh my God. Uh, and yeah, that's, uh, that's about it for, uh, for me, Matt, what about you? Uh, watching wise X-Men 97. I'm glad you're finally caught up on it so we can talk about it. Mm. Took you too long to watch the first couple episodes.
[01:07:32] But, uh, um, dude, I didn't think they could make X-Men 97 any better, but this season two is phenomenal. Um, definitely loving it. Uh, started a rewatch on the pirates of the Caribbean movies because of black flag. Um, I, to make us all feel old dude, dead man's chest. The second one 20 years ago.
[01:08:03] Jesus dude. It came out in 06. Wow. So the first one came out in what? Oh, four, oh five. Four. I think. Damn. That's when I graduated high school. Oh, it's such a baby. Damn. Class of 97. Um, Damn. Yeah. Um, but yeah, so those have been getting rewatched.
[01:08:33] Um, honestly been, I've been watching a lot more baseball. Um, actually putting my MLB TV subscription to good use. Enjoying that surround sound. Those new speakers. How is it working with the stadium? Like sounds crowd noise. It's great. Like you hear like the, the cheering coming out of the rear speakers and stuff like that. So it sounds great.
[01:08:58] Um, for me living in the wallows and depths of the basements and the worst attempted records in baseball, I'm happy where my Rockies are at. Like, honestly, they have to really screw up this season to have a record. Like last year. Like this record lower. They've already won. They've already won 39 games. I know it's not what the Dodgers are doing. They almost doubled what they did last year. Exactly.
[01:09:26] Like we, we won like 43 games total. Like we were, uh, 43 and one 19. So we're at the all-star break. So they would have to go. What? 81 games minus four. So they would have to go four and 77 the rest of the way to match what they did last year. So I don't think they're going to do that this year. So I'll take it. It would just have to quit now. No.
[01:09:56] Hey, maybe, maybe, maybe it's a trial for being a fall of Rocky. I don't know that the kids do the new kids. The new kids can rake. They're doing a phenomenal job. So, um, and then as far as playing wise goes, uh, of course still we were playing division up until black flag. And then it's just been black flag. Although we will go back to division here and there. Yeah. That's going to be our online game, but we talked about that.
[01:10:25] Black flag definitely has taken a little precedence right now. It's, uh, it's pretty well here in two weeks. Uh, division will absolutely take a backseat for our online game because halo comes out. That's right. And we can do halo multiplayer. Halo. Halo. You should go get halo because you get to see the roots of bungee. Yeah. I've tried playing halo and.
[01:10:55] But you play destiny. It's the same mechanics. Not necessarily. No, not really. But, but you like how they ask you to do not me because they already know all of it. Like, no, because you don't like first person shooters. Yeah. You don't want shooters, dude. I'm not. We want to get, we still, we're still waiting for you to get on, uh, on division. Yeah. I own that game. Yeah.
[01:11:20] And you guys, let's not, let's, let's not forget the elephant in the room too. You started after us where we were like, Hey, Hey, what about us? We, we want to play with you. We're done. You're like, don't play with some guys. We're team running without them. Yeah. And I remember, I remember, um, I remember us mentioning we're, we're playing division two and, uh, nothing mister. Sure. So yeah. Yeah.
[01:11:50] Tell us, tell us when you're on bro. Jeez. We want to play. We want, we want to be, we want to play. So, but yeah, that's kind of what I've been, that's all I've been playing right now. Um, yeah. It's been watching, watching anything interesting, anything fun. No, just, I mean, just three, watch the movies baseball. Like, um, you know, just been kind of watching movies here and there that take full advantage
[01:12:17] of this round sound, but, um, you know, therapy's been not therapy rehabs and kicking my butt, but you've been doing well, you've been getting through it though. Yes. You've been updating us. I've been doing amazing with it. Um, I'm ahead of the curve in some ways. Um, the downside is now I'm starting to, my nerves are starting to start coming online now as they've regenerated in some places and man, it hurts. Oh yeah.
[01:12:46] Cause I can feel like kind of like the bruising that is still there and you know, the bone it's still fusing. So like I could, I can feel it. It's like, yeah, it's there. It hurts. Not going to lie. But you know what though? I wouldn't change it for the world because going through the surgery and I even said this to my cardiologist is this literally saved my life.
[01:13:19] So I will take this in every way, shape or form to having the rest of my life with my boys. So anyways, so with that, uh, I want to thank everybody for crashing game night with us tonight. If you like what you heard drops, follow head over to crashing game night.com. Uh, check out our past guests. Um, I've got a little bit of a Mario reunion in the works for us as I did get to see, uh,
[01:13:47] Samantha Kelly and Kenny James this past weekend at the Fredericksburg comic-con. Um, and I've already talked to Laura Faye Smith. Uh, so we are just gotta get everybody's schedules lined up and we're going to have the trio back on and actually on all at the same time instead of separate episodes. Very cool. I was talking to them. Samantha Kelly was episode 189. Wow. It was one 93.
[01:14:14] We are recording this episode tonight is three 80. Uh, Daniel. Yes. Wow. Working on that. Um, I've already reached out to, uh, the Lee walls to get them back on now that we've got X-Men 97 season two out. So just gotta get that scheduled and whatnot. So, um, we're going to start, we're going to start trying to get some guests scheduled makeup for, uh, this past year guys with the health and everything. I haven't done it.
[01:14:44] Um, but for the last couple of months, I'm gonna try and get a bunch of guests on for everybody as a kind of just thank you for sticking with us this year because this has been the hardest year of my life. Um, and we've had to take some time away for, for my health. So yeah, we're gonna start getting that scheduled and stuff, uh, towards the back end of September is where we're going to start really scheduling and guests. So anyways, um, with everything that's going on and just the heckiness of life, you never
[01:15:13] know what people are battling, whether that's health or mental or whatever it is. But, um, yeah, let's, let's follow Bill and Ted's, you know, lead and just be excellent to each other. That's right. All you nerds out there. Uh, once again, we just want to send that same message. You know, um, it's still crazy out there. Uh, things are getting more expensive.
[01:15:41] People are getting, uh, more and more angry and they want to express themselves. So let's just try to, uh, you know, give people their space. Let's try to be a little bit more, uh, patient and a little bit more open-minded and let's just try to do and be better out there, uh, for each other. And when we see the opportunity, let's kind of, let's seize it to see if, to try and help anybody out when we can. Uh, thank you all and, uh, be safe out there.
[01:16:10] J rock J bone at, at your, uh, uh, illustrious, uh, uh, island, uh, tropical island out there looking, looking good, baby. Yeah. Yeah. Anyways guys. Yes. Uh, hope you guys did have a good 4th of July. You know, I missed you guys last week. It's all good. Um, you know, we're, we're coming around where the half, uh, the back end of the, the year 2026. So, you know, we are in summertime.
[01:16:37] Hope you guys are having a good summer out there. You know, there's a lot of conventions. Like, you know, I just came back from. Evil. We had anime expo over here, you know, that's right. Plenty of conventions. Take a look out there, go out there, go socialize, go meet and greet other people's. Cause that's how we met. You never know who you're going to meet. You never know how you're going to, how you're going to enjoy life. So that's right. Take some time. Take some time for yourself. Just like Matt.
[01:17:08] Theo, Jerry and myself. Well, I'll take a little bit of time for ourselves to enjoy. Because you know, I only get one life. But anyways, you know, you missed it last week. My man. My man at Theo. Yelling out in the middle of the street. All crazy. My man. Send us out like you do. Well, and really quick, since you were looking for some recommendations and you're stuck on Netflix. If you haven't watched it yet.
[01:17:38] That time I got reincarnated as slime. Delicious and dungeon. Spy family, spy family for sure. Tommy can't or comey can't communicate. But I recommend those to all our listeners and all our watchers, but thank you for watching. Thanks for listening. Next time. TTFN. That's for now. Big Yikes. Bye everybody.
