On this episode of the podcast, actor Caleb Pierce crashes game night to talk about his career and what it was like to bring Zack Fair to life in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project.
[00:00:07] So with that, I want to welcome everybody to Crashing Game Night.
[00:00:12] My name is Matt Duario, your host, as always tonight.
[00:00:16] And it and it brings me pleasure to say this, Alex, I love you.
[00:00:21] But we are joined by the first soldier.
[00:00:26] Well, oh, sorry, Alex.
[00:00:29] The truth for a soldier.
[00:00:32] Oh, my God.
[00:00:33] That was worth it right there.
[00:00:35] Showing up is just to tell Alex that.
[00:00:37] That's hysterical.
[00:00:39] Oh, I will. I will absolutely.
[00:00:40] Like, dude, I took it.
[00:00:41] Yes, yeah.
[00:00:45] Oh, my gosh. Oh, and return after.
[00:00:52] Having to take a moment away.
[00:00:54] The beanie one, a small heart.
[00:00:57] Herrera.
[00:00:59] How's it going on my nerds, everyone?
[00:01:01] Caleb, I already feel like we know each other.
[00:01:03] I was I watched the episode.
[00:01:05] I don't know. Like, yeah, I watched it a couple of times just just out of pure like regret.
[00:01:11] I wish I was there and missed you guys and missed everyone.
[00:01:13] But yeah, we had a little little family emergency, but everything's OK.
[00:01:17] And thank you, everyone, for their thoughts and prayers.
[00:01:21] And yeah, happy to be here and can't wait to get to know you, man.
[00:01:28] Absolutely. And we are sans.
[00:01:32] The baby face one. Yeah.
[00:01:34] He he came down with a bit of the flu or something like that.
[00:01:39] So he's having to catch up, you know, from work and whatnot.
[00:01:42] So, you know, he sends his love.
[00:01:45] And then last but not least, our major deaccess is the man with the.
[00:01:54] Man, the legend, the lion's mane, Jason.
[00:01:59] But it was it going guys.
[00:02:02] How's it going tonight?
[00:02:05] Now you just prolong that one.
[00:02:07] And I got you.
[00:02:09] It threw you out.
[00:02:11] It threw me away.
[00:02:12] I mean, I guess you're still getting ready.
[00:02:14] You're ready.
[00:02:15] You know, let's just let's just do this.
[00:02:18] Let's see. That was funny.
[00:02:20] How's it going tonight, guys?
[00:02:22] Caleb, thank you for coming back, you know, couch.
[00:02:26] You know, it welcomes you back.
[00:02:28] My man.
[00:02:29] Jason, I have to say, since I met you a couple of weeks ago,
[00:02:32] I've just been so curious what's actually behind the couch.
[00:02:36] Oh, we got a little glimpse.
[00:02:38] Yeah, Jason had to turn it off for just a quick second before we got on.
[00:02:41] And I just I felt like I was seeing all the magic.
[00:02:44] But, you know, it's like it's like Disneyland, you know, you got to
[00:02:48] hide the scenes of magic back here.
[00:02:50] You know, you would know. Right.
[00:02:55] Some crazy back there.
[00:02:57] So, yeah, so we have Caleb coming back
[00:03:00] and rightfully deservedly so, because everybody that was on the episode
[00:03:04] a couple of weeks ago on our final fantasy Hollywood Square's edition.
[00:03:10] Everybody's had their own episode.
[00:03:11] That's awesome. Yeah. You know what? And you.
[00:03:15] Caleb deserves that because there are a ton
[00:03:19] and I mean, a ton of Zach fans out there.
[00:03:21] Yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:03:24] So it's rightfully so.
[00:03:25] Let's let's get to know the man behind the voice.
[00:03:30] So but first, how are you doing, Caleb?
[00:03:33] Matt, I I'm doing well.
[00:03:36] I'm actually in our future baby room
[00:03:39] and a baby in like a month and a half.
[00:03:42] No, my next to the crib, the baby sleeping right now.
[00:03:45] So if you guys can keep it down.
[00:03:47] Get up.
[00:03:49] Yeah. So my office has now become a baby room.
[00:03:52] So we're excited and welcome to that world.
[00:03:55] And thank you.
[00:03:57] Yeah.
[00:03:58] That's some father advice, which has been great.
[00:04:01] I actually wanted to ask if you three could be in the hospital with us
[00:04:04] as Megan's giving birth.
[00:04:06] It would just mean the world to us.
[00:04:07] So let me know.
[00:04:09] All right. We'll get we'll get to you on that.
[00:04:11] And that will buy you in.
[00:04:13] OK, I'm just going to say
[00:04:16] the one that really needs to be in there for stage like advice
[00:04:19] and and whatnot is Uncle John.
[00:04:22] That's right. Yeah.
[00:04:23] I need to be there.
[00:04:24] Can you make it to the hospital? Yeah.
[00:04:27] I mean, we'll we'll tag out.
[00:04:28] We'll tag in and out.
[00:04:31] Yeah, yeah. We'll take shifts.
[00:04:32] Definitely. You never need a break.
[00:04:33] We got it. Yeah, yeah. Thank you.
[00:04:35] Thank you. Is John John to me just seems like the common denominator
[00:04:39] to anyone I meet is everyone knows John because you guys met him
[00:04:43] pretty much.
[00:04:44] We met at E3.
[00:04:45] He's but he's kind of yeah, he was kind of the bridge.
[00:04:48] Like one of them originally because yeah, we were in line and
[00:04:54] he's been in line, right?
[00:04:56] We were in the Final Fantasy rebirth line for the for the demo.
[00:05:01] Oh, can we draw on it?
[00:05:03] No, no, no. Just play the game.
[00:05:05] Just play the demo.
[00:05:06] That was actually the one that kind of like, hey, that's I
[00:05:10] that's the voice of this.
[00:05:13] And I'm like, what you need in this?
[00:05:15] I bet. Yeah.
[00:05:17] No, and he yeah, he he was like, dude, we have the voice of Barrett.
[00:05:21] I'm like, oh, sweet.
[00:05:22] And then he was with his son and was like, oh, he must be with his son.
[00:05:25] They're just going through the demo like, oh, that's cool.
[00:05:27] And I was going to let them be.
[00:05:28] Yeah, OK. He's with his son.
[00:05:30] He's like and then John came up.
[00:05:32] Anyway, I have to ask, does something like that make you guys nervous?
[00:05:36] Or are you? No, no.
[00:05:38] It depends on who it is. Depends on who it is.
[00:05:41] No, maybe Jason. But no.
[00:05:44] For me, for me, at least for me.
[00:05:45] Like Jason gets nervous.
[00:05:47] But yeah, yeah.
[00:05:48] Like there's a few that I'm like, bro, I got.
[00:05:51] I get nervous.
[00:05:52] I get nervous.
[00:05:53] I was like, I was really nervous when we met Corey Barlog on the show floor
[00:05:57] and just talked to him and Danielle Vasude.
[00:06:00] But that was that was just because it's Corey Barlog.
[00:06:03] He has been. Yeah, he's a he's one of the Mount essentially the Mount.
[00:06:07] That was more in danger.
[00:06:09] Let's say like I like once again, I think you like
[00:06:13] pointing them out or you like you saw him or something like
[00:06:15] I'm so glad like someone pointed to him out because yeah,
[00:06:19] we we actually got that was Mo.
[00:06:21] That was Mo. It was Mo. Yeah, yes.
[00:06:23] Oh, man. But we had such a nice moment with him.
[00:06:27] And that essentially that's how we got to meet Danielle.
[00:06:30] Oh, I love like I really got to express how much I loved
[00:06:35] that God of War game because he was that's one of my favorite games now.
[00:06:39] And it was just so nice to like, dude, to the creator.
[00:06:43] Yeah, as it was epic, dude.
[00:06:46] Yeah. And so nice, Caleb, to your point, right?
[00:06:49] As nice as it would be to have him sign this. Yeah.
[00:06:53] We have everybody signed in this. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:06:57] That's like a little amazing.
[00:06:59] It's it's one of our it's like it's our like memorabilia
[00:07:03] from doing the podcast we ever decide, you know,
[00:07:06] when we decide to stop this and hang it up, right.
[00:07:08] We've got the stuff to go. Hey, we were we know these guys.
[00:07:11] These are part of the crew. Yeah.
[00:07:13] So when we can finally get together,
[00:07:15] I think it may not happen for this trip when Paul's out.
[00:07:19] And because everything's tight, you've got the baby coming like that.
[00:07:22] So can I bring that? Can I bring a one week old?
[00:07:25] Are you guys? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:07:28] We'll figure it out.
[00:07:29] But the plan is because Zach does not have a picture in this. Yeah.
[00:07:35] So the plan is I will bring the art book from rebirth.
[00:07:41] Oh, my gosh. Nice. Yeah.
[00:07:43] So we can get you in there.
[00:07:44] And I want to get everybody else in there, too.
[00:07:46] So we have like the running art books, you know, but
[00:07:51] but no, John just came over and asked how I thought about the game.
[00:07:54] And for me, you know, I struck up the conversation
[00:07:57] because I'm a huge Final Fantasy 13 fan
[00:08:00] and the combat system felt really similar to me.
[00:08:04] Yeah. I mean, yeah, it's had some upgrades to it,
[00:08:05] but it had the heart of Final Fantasy 13 in it.
[00:08:09] And we got to talking about it.
[00:08:11] Then we took some pictures.
[00:08:12] We exchanged contact information and I said, hey, we do a podcast.
[00:08:16] It'd be great to have you on.
[00:08:18] And the rest is history. That is.
[00:08:21] Yeah. And then after John, it was Austin and Vic and Mallory.
[00:08:25] And we've had Bree on.
[00:08:27] We've had Gideon.
[00:08:29] I was going to say, have you guys had everyone from the final?
[00:08:32] Everybody were working on it.
[00:08:34] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:08:35] Now it's we're at we're crossed.
[00:08:37] We're past that point.
[00:08:39] We're like, no, no, like I think and I were discussing it like,
[00:08:43] should we just go for like, yeah, I would be able.
[00:08:45] Yes. So like, yeah, dude, we're already past the point.
[00:08:48] Well, we're halfway.
[00:08:49] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:08:51] Let's do it. Awesome.
[00:08:52] You guys. Yeah.
[00:08:53] Oh, yeah. It was like it was one of those things like because you've
[00:08:56] you and I have talked about this.
[00:08:57] You don't have much of a social media presence.
[00:08:59] So there was no way for me to get contact information.
[00:09:02] I didn't know John had yours.
[00:09:04] I mean, he goes, by the way, he's like, he wants to join.
[00:09:09] Is it cool if he comes on? I go, yes.
[00:09:11] Yes. Yes.
[00:09:14] I was so excited.
[00:09:15] Let me tell you this is definitely lived up to the hype.
[00:09:18] Like, yeah, John, I was so good.
[00:09:20] He told me about you guys, but it was just so refreshing and fun
[00:09:25] and just felt like I had no we have a high bar.
[00:09:27] Yeah. Oh, good.
[00:09:29] Well, that's good.
[00:09:30] Well, we have a high to keep up to.
[00:09:32] So that's that's awesome.
[00:09:33] Yeah, he's he's the coolest dude.
[00:09:36] Just yeah.
[00:09:38] Yeah, he's amazing.
[00:09:39] Yeah. If there's ever a moment where like we can try and connect,
[00:09:42] like he's always like, yeah, let's do it.
[00:09:45] Yes. So this past year at Comic Con, me and
[00:09:50] me and Theo were there and he was there for like a few hours.
[00:09:54] So we got to guess I and you know, spend a little time with him.
[00:09:57] And yeah, and check it out.
[00:09:59] So like it's it's always great seeing him.
[00:10:01] What I love about John is he always makes you feel like you're
[00:10:04] the most important person in the room.
[00:10:05] You know, like he's never.
[00:10:07] Yeah, he never has to be somewhere else or it's like it's you, you know?
[00:10:11] And I just think that's just just just just wait, Caleb,
[00:10:14] just wait until we invite you to the family dinner.
[00:10:18] I can't. Oh, yeah.
[00:10:20] They're great.
[00:10:21] It's it's great.
[00:10:23] It's crazy. It's getting bigger.
[00:10:24] I love it. It is.
[00:10:26] I really love it.
[00:10:26] At this point, we're going to have to have Lucille's
[00:10:28] like reserve an entire room for us at the right time.
[00:10:31] We're going to be at the section.
[00:10:33] We're going to have Caleb.
[00:10:34] We're going to add Will to the fan, you know, to the whole thing.
[00:10:38] And right, Paul, the whole time it for when Paul is there, you know?
[00:10:44] So, yeah, but let's
[00:10:45] let's let everyone get some backstory because, you know, really is they
[00:10:49] they know you as Zach. Yeah.
[00:10:51] But you've actually, you know, if you look at your IMDb,
[00:10:54] you've been going on for almost a decade now. That's right.
[00:10:57] Yeah, that's crazy. You know,
[00:10:59] so you started off with some smaller productions.
[00:11:02] Ashley Clover, the real nails and roommates. Yeah.
[00:11:05] But then after that, you got some guest spots on some actually big shows.
[00:11:10] Now you have I was told you would do your research.
[00:11:13] You have done your research.
[00:11:15] I do my research. So amazing.
[00:11:17] You were on you were on Grey's Anatomy.
[00:11:19] Yeah, I am.
[00:11:21] I was talking to you about it.
[00:11:22] I'm a couple of episodes away from getting to your episode,
[00:11:25] which I can't wait because I saw one of the stills from it.
[00:11:27] And it's like seeing you with a crown on your head.
[00:11:29] I'm like, oh, dude, this is going to be
[00:11:33] knowing you from us talking and stuff.
[00:11:36] I'm like, OK, this is going to be great.
[00:11:37] Very different characters in that. Right. Yeah.
[00:11:40] You know, you're on Mom. Yeah.
[00:11:43] You had two episodes on Big Bang Theory.
[00:11:45] Yeah, right.
[00:11:47] You were on the and you know, nine one one.
[00:11:52] And that's before you all got Zach in the remake. Right.
[00:11:56] And you've gone on which a lot of people, whether or not they know this,
[00:11:59] but you are Zach and for soldier crisis, corn, of course, rebirth. Yeah.
[00:12:04] And this is something I had to actually verify with you
[00:12:07] because I saw when I was doing my research, but you died laughing
[00:12:11] when you did this.
[00:12:12] Timmy Turner in the Paramount Plus live action
[00:12:16] movie Fairly Odd Parents Fairly Otter. That's right.
[00:12:21] That did happen. Yes.
[00:12:24] So real quick, what got you into acting?
[00:12:27] Oh, man.
[00:12:28] One man, that is that was so kind of you.
[00:12:31] And I loved texting with you this week and you like, wait. Oh, yeah.
[00:12:33] Clarify. Did you do this?
[00:12:36] Well, it's funny. I was sitting there texting.
[00:12:37] I was like, by the way, I'm making your video right now.
[00:12:40] You're like, what?
[00:12:41] And then I said it to you. Like, that was super quick.
[00:12:43] He literally was like, hey, I'm making a video.
[00:12:45] Did you do these things?
[00:12:45] I'm like, yeah. And then like a minute later, you sent me the video.
[00:12:48] That was awesome. Yeah.
[00:12:49] Um, yeah, I I guess to back up my I have two brothers.
[00:12:53] I'm from Texas.
[00:12:54] Texas is a big football state.
[00:12:57] Both my brothers played football.
[00:12:59] I'm a middle child.
[00:13:00] Football, sports, athleticism is just not my gifting.
[00:13:03] I tried.
[00:13:05] I do. That's like a death sentence down in Texas.
[00:13:08] It is. Yeah.
[00:13:10] Yeah. I really tried.
[00:13:13] I, you know, tried basketball, soccer.
[00:13:15] I was begging the coach, don't make me goalie.
[00:13:17] I just I can't do it.
[00:13:19] So I auditioned for a play at a community theater.
[00:13:25] My older brother did not, you know, wasn't into that at all.
[00:13:28] But he was like, hey, if you audition for it, I'll audition with you,
[00:13:31] which was so awesome.
[00:13:32] That's awesome.
[00:13:33] That's a good brother.
[00:13:34] He just saw that that may be a good thing for me.
[00:13:36] So I hate to brag guys, I was cast as an Oompa Loompa.
[00:13:40] First drop out the gate.
[00:13:42] All right.
[00:13:45] OK.
[00:13:46] So in all in all the scenes or was there a specific one?
[00:13:50] And all the scenes, yeah, in the play and all the street.
[00:13:54] OK. Yeah.
[00:13:55] So it just fell in love with it.
[00:13:57] Like I knew I love going to play practice.
[00:14:00] I loved, you know, being on stage playing pretend
[00:14:04] for two hours a night was just a blast.
[00:14:07] So my parents really saw that in me.
[00:14:09] My parents are amazing.
[00:14:10] They're really good at kind of what each of us is into stewarding
[00:14:14] that and, you know, gearing us in that direction.
[00:14:18] So we just found I found a local acting classes in Dallas for TV and film.
[00:14:23] Just fell in love with it.
[00:14:24] I started working at that studio
[00:14:26] and the lady who runs her name is Catherine Sullivan is amazing.
[00:14:30] She has a lot of like a lot of the Disney kids came out of her program,
[00:14:34] which is why I wanted to take with her.
[00:14:37] She's got a great curriculum for voiceover, for feature film, for,
[00:14:42] you know, she does all.
[00:14:44] So I studied with her for eight years, I think.
[00:14:47] And then I was getting close on some projects in L.A.
[00:14:51] So Dad and I would fly out here, you know, for like callbacks
[00:14:55] or producer sessions.
[00:14:57] And my parents were awesome, but they were like, we love this for you,
[00:15:00] but we want you to get your degree.
[00:15:02] It can be an anything your college degree,
[00:15:04] but we just want you to have a degree.
[00:15:07] So I got my degree in theater from a very small West Texas school
[00:15:11] that my parents, parents, parents had gone to.
[00:15:15] It was like a family.
[00:15:17] And what's what West Texas school is that it was called Avalyn Christian.
[00:15:21] We are the Wildcats.
[00:15:23] We didn't have a football team, but we did have a theater program.
[00:15:26] Sweet. Right in.
[00:15:29] And then two days after I graduated, I was living in L.A.
[00:15:33] and Jason, the team.
[00:15:36] Yeah, my the guy I was supposed to live with out here
[00:15:39] like a week before bailed out and was like, hey, man, I can't work.
[00:15:43] So I like didn't have a place.
[00:15:45] I knew a random friend who loved video games.
[00:15:49] I called him when I landed.
[00:15:50] I'm like, Coop, let's play some games tonight.
[00:15:53] And I just kind of fell on his couch.
[00:15:55] And then I woke up the next morning.
[00:15:56] I'm like, I'm so crazy.
[00:15:58] Like that was so fun.
[00:15:59] And I just fell asleep.
[00:16:00] And then I got in my car. I'm like, I have nowhere to go.
[00:16:02] So it was like a big like panic moment of just like, this is my dream.
[00:16:07] But is it going to work?
[00:16:08] And my older brother, who auditioned with me in the show,
[00:16:13] called and was like, hey, man, we want to put you up in a hotel.
[00:16:16] My my sister-in-law and him until you place.
[00:16:19] And they did.
[00:16:21] I found a place with some actors that have become my best friends out here.
[00:16:25] And sweet. Yeah.
[00:16:26] And then started auditioning and booking.
[00:16:29] And yeah, it's been awesome.
[00:16:31] Nice. That is holy crap, though.
[00:16:35] That's huge.
[00:16:36] Talk about a roll of the dice, dude.
[00:16:38] That's that's great.
[00:16:39] It was rolling the dice.
[00:16:40] That's cool. Yeah.
[00:16:43] But that's the thing.
[00:16:44] Like you you invested in yourself and you you gamble on yourself and work.
[00:16:47] And that's.
[00:16:50] That's amazing.
[00:16:52] I love that.
[00:16:53] What was the day job while you were auditioning?
[00:16:56] Or was there one or jobs in many day jobs?
[00:17:00] Yeah.
[00:17:01] My first job
[00:17:04] I was working at.
[00:17:06] OK, so Sprinkles Cupcakes had like a division called Sprinkles Ice Cream.
[00:17:10] I had applied to I don't know how many just like day jobs.
[00:17:13] That was the only one that gave me an interview
[00:17:15] because I kind of knew someone who worked there.
[00:17:18] Oh, you got to have an end, you guys.
[00:17:19] Yeah. To get it.
[00:17:22] Right. It's a real underground elite elite thing.
[00:17:26] So, yeah, I worked at Sprinkles.
[00:17:27] My shift started at like 5 p.m.
[00:17:30] And I would go until one or two a.m.
[00:17:32] each night because we would close at midnight.
[00:17:34] Then we have to, you know, pack down.
[00:17:36] Yeah. So that was my that was my shift.
[00:17:39] But it was so I could have the days free to audition.
[00:17:42] So it worked out great because pre covid, you know, you had to be
[00:17:45] in the room auditioning.
[00:17:47] So I was going in for voiceover stuff and for, you know, TV and film.
[00:17:51] And yeah, I think about two or three months out is when I booked
[00:17:55] my first TV show, which helped kind of supplement the,
[00:17:59] you know, ten dollars an hour at Sprinkles.
[00:18:01] Wasn't going to last too long on that.
[00:18:03] There is there is nothing wrong with being an ice cream jockey to start.
[00:18:06] That's right. That was my first job.
[00:18:10] It was it was Baskin Robbins.
[00:18:12] Yes, sir. Same here.
[00:18:13] Wait, really?
[00:18:14] Dang. Yep.
[00:18:16] I felt an ice cream connect with you guys.
[00:18:18] I can't explain.
[00:18:19] I thought you were Colesone, Jason.
[00:18:21] I thought I was I was Baskin Robbins.
[00:18:23] You're Baskin Robbins. Yeah.
[00:18:25] That's right. You ever worked in ice?
[00:18:28] No, no, no, no.
[00:18:31] The best part of it is just getting to like,
[00:18:33] did you guys have asked Robbins get to take it home?
[00:18:36] Oh, we got kind of stuck it.
[00:18:41] I mean, it's been so long.
[00:18:42] But yeah, like, you know, see what's the homies would come by coming.
[00:18:46] Yeah. Well, everybody in school is like, can we get us some free ice cream?
[00:18:50] No, no.
[00:18:51] Well, honestly, I can say I was I was kind of close to the relatively
[00:18:54] the same type of work.
[00:18:56] I was a barista for Starbucks.
[00:18:58] Oh, wow. And that had its own
[00:19:01] complicated customers.
[00:19:02] But I will say it's like during the nights, like when we really super busy,
[00:19:06] like me and one of the other people I worked with, I became friends
[00:19:09] with at the time.
[00:19:10] We used to think we were like in the movie cocktail,
[00:19:13] but it was like we were ice cream.
[00:19:15] He said we'd be sitting there trying to, you know,
[00:19:17] flip in the cups while we're making milkshakes and yeah, they didn't end.
[00:19:20] Well, a lot of clean up, a lot of clean up.
[00:19:25] Oh, my God.
[00:19:26] Oh, it was.
[00:19:28] I would go back just in a heartbeat and do it like it was so fun.
[00:19:32] Like you.
[00:19:33] I I would not go back because the man, the owner,
[00:19:36] they were all franchises and stuff for me.
[00:19:38] I would go back to two jobs.
[00:19:40] OK, don't really exist anymore.
[00:19:42] But the first would be laser storm.
[00:19:44] So it was a laser tag place that had an arcade in it.
[00:19:47] So we used to play laser tag and arcade games
[00:19:50] and do birthday parties and stuff like that.
[00:19:52] It was absolute blast.
[00:19:54] But I would if I if I could, I would go back to Blockbuster.
[00:20:00] I see.
[00:20:01] Oh, yeah, dude, I would tell you how I'm about.
[00:20:04] I don't know about Jason, but I would go back to the days
[00:20:07] where we worked together at the end during those days.
[00:20:10] Those are the best days.
[00:20:12] We mean, Jay used to work together.
[00:20:14] Yeah, we worked in a video game story.
[00:20:17] That's how we met.
[00:20:18] Yeah. So he was my manager.
[00:20:20] I was older than him.
[00:20:22] Oh, my God. Jason is your boss.
[00:20:24] Oh, yeah, it was.
[00:20:26] But he was your boss.
[00:20:27] No, no, no, no. He was the coolest boss.
[00:20:29] He was the coolest manager, though.
[00:20:31] He really was. I was like, is everything done?
[00:20:33] Yeah. All right. Yeah.
[00:20:34] All right. Cool.
[00:20:36] Yeah. As long as I got my work done.
[00:20:38] Like, OK, cool.
[00:20:39] Chill. Like as long as you got it done.
[00:20:41] Yeah. You were you were a good boss, dude.
[00:20:43] We had fun at my store when I was running it on Fridays and Saturday nights.
[00:20:47] We didn't. OK.
[00:20:48] You know how they're OK.
[00:20:49] So, you know, remember when you used to go in blockbuster
[00:20:51] used to have the trailers running?
[00:20:53] Yes. Yeah.
[00:20:54] So what we would do is we'd unplug the audio
[00:20:57] and we would plug in.
[00:20:59] I had an MP, I had an iPod loaded with all movie soundtracks.
[00:21:04] So what we would do is we'd like movie,
[00:21:05] the actual audio for the movie soundtracks.
[00:21:07] And then we'd play a game where basically if you could guess
[00:21:09] the the movie that the score was from, we gave you like a free bag of popcorn.
[00:21:14] We also bring in our three.
[00:21:16] We'd also bring in our three 60s and hook them up into those monitors
[00:21:19] and do Guitar Hero.
[00:21:20] We just like to do battles right on the floor.
[00:21:23] And that's fun.
[00:21:25] At a time, I don't remember which Star Wars game came out,
[00:21:27] but I brought in my replica lightsabers at the time
[00:21:30] and we did like lightsaber duels right there in the middle of the store.
[00:21:33] And oh, my God, fun.
[00:21:34] Like it was not what we were supposed to do by corporate standards.
[00:21:39] What? Yeah, right.
[00:21:40] There was a reason why we were selling so much different things
[00:21:43] and whatnot, and we were the gaming store. But
[00:21:45] so when you look at your career, though, Zach,
[00:21:47] is you were predominantly acting, you know, theater and in front of the camera.
[00:21:52] Right. So what was it like to transition from
[00:21:56] in front of the camera to doing voiceover work?
[00:21:59] Oh, my gosh. For Final Fantasy.
[00:22:01] So nerve wracking.
[00:22:02] Um, yeah, it was really nerve wracking when I auditioned for Final Fantasy.
[00:22:06] They sent these. So I was going in for some voiceover stuff.
[00:22:09] You know, here or there, but that wasn't like my lane.
[00:22:13] You know, I was in and I got the audition.
[00:22:17] They didn't say it was Final Fantasy.
[00:22:19] They didn't give too much about the character.
[00:22:21] It was just I think I literally think the audition was for lines
[00:22:24] and they I just went in and read the lines.
[00:22:27] Like I said, I didn't know what it was for,
[00:22:29] which looking back is a great thing because I would have felt
[00:22:31] so much more pressure if I had known it was for Final Fantasy.
[00:22:35] But yeah, I read the lines and then no joke.
[00:22:38] I think it was a year later.
[00:22:40] I got an email like six a.m.
[00:22:43] of my agent was like, hey, you booked this.
[00:22:46] And by the way, it's Final Fantasy.
[00:22:47] And I legit thought they'd emailed the wrong person.
[00:22:50] I was like, this is embarrassing.
[00:22:52] Like I just oh, my God, you know, but I don't think she called me
[00:22:55] Zach in the email. Oh, and I'm like, oh, my gosh.
[00:22:59] Like she must have a client named Zach that booked this. Oh,
[00:23:04] they were trying to surprise you calling you by the character.
[00:23:07] Yes. Right. Right.
[00:23:10] Yeah. So then once I got that sorted, that I was the guy
[00:23:13] like confirmed. Yeah.
[00:23:15] Be the same way. Like can we confirm this, please?
[00:23:19] Because it's going to be really embarrassing if I show up and say
[00:23:21] my name is Zach. Right.
[00:23:24] Yeah. So she emailed.
[00:23:25] And I think within like a week,
[00:23:28] I was recording a remake, which was
[00:23:31] I think it was maybe two days of recording.
[00:23:33] I got to meet Cody there because he was cool.
[00:23:36] He was so awesome.
[00:23:38] The whole team there was just so welcoming and
[00:23:41] yeah, really helped like translate, you know,
[00:23:44] the kind of feedback I get for like a TV or film role
[00:23:47] for voiceover. So just made the transition really easy.
[00:23:51] So I did that. It was probably another year later.
[00:23:55] I got an email that's like, hey, we're working on
[00:23:58] crisis score. They didn't call it crisis score at the time.
[00:24:01] I can't remember what they said.
[00:24:02] Another like under wraps thing. Yeah.
[00:24:05] Like and we'll need you for the next.
[00:24:07] Are you real quick? Yeah.
[00:24:09] Speaking of Moe, Moe just rated us.
[00:24:14] Oh, welcome.
[00:24:15] Wait, come on over.
[00:24:17] So Moe is brought over some of his viewers from
[00:24:22] his his dream.
[00:24:25] Well, yeah, thank you, Moe.
[00:24:27] Oh, we can't thank you enough.
[00:24:29] Yeah.
[00:24:30] So everybody that's coming on over with Moe, you're sticking around.
[00:24:33] Welcome. Yeah.
[00:24:35] The game. You guys, thank you guys for joining.
[00:24:37] We missed you. It wasn't the same without you guys.
[00:24:41] Caleb Pierce on with us.
[00:24:43] He is the voice of Zach Fair.
[00:24:45] We were just kind of talking about the whole audition process
[00:24:48] on what it went into bringing Zach to life.
[00:24:52] So welcome, guys.
[00:24:53] Anyways, I just had to do that really quick because we all know.
[00:24:55] And he was going to bring over some of his folks
[00:24:59] from a stream and whatnot. So welcome, guys.
[00:25:01] Super cool. Thank you.
[00:25:02] Thank you, Moe. Thank you, Moe.
[00:25:04] And thanks, guys, for joining.
[00:25:06] And we've already got
[00:25:08] somebody in chat has already stated best Final Fantasy character Zach Fair.
[00:25:13] Oh, right.
[00:25:15] Favorite person in the chat right there.
[00:25:18] The rooster was up there.
[00:25:22] That's awesome.
[00:25:23] Moses, you know, you know, love you so much, Caleb,
[00:25:26] because honestly, for him, Zach is his favorite character.
[00:25:30] Mm hmm. In Final Fantasy.
[00:25:32] So anyway, so you went back to, you know, you kind of,
[00:25:36] you know, were there meeting everybody doing your two days and stuff like that?
[00:25:39] Right. So yeah, one day a year later, I got an email that's like,
[00:25:42] hey, we're giving Zach his own game.
[00:25:44] They didn't call Crisis Corps, but they were like,
[00:25:46] are you available for the next year?
[00:25:49] Like, I am. Yeah.
[00:25:52] Yes, please. Yeah.
[00:25:54] You know that. Right.
[00:25:57] Absolutely. I am available.
[00:25:59] So that was just the time of my life.
[00:26:00] It was Monday through Friday.
[00:26:02] Oh, man. You know, recording in a booth with the incredible team.
[00:26:07] And Kirk was like the main director on that, Kirk Thornton.
[00:26:11] And just he was so good at being, you know,
[00:26:14] there was still a lot of things to learn with just recording and being Zach.
[00:26:19] And they were just so patient and gracious
[00:26:22] and just created a really safe place to explore,
[00:26:25] to also fail, you know, to fall on my face and be like,
[00:26:29] that wasn't it.
[00:26:30] There were a couple of times when they're like, Zach, is that like,
[00:26:33] I remember doing the Zach squats in the booth.
[00:26:37] And I was like recording there like,
[00:26:41] and they got on. Please tell me somebody got that on video.
[00:26:44] I wish. No, they got it like after I recorded it, you know,
[00:26:47] they're in like a booth and they got on. They're like, hey,
[00:26:50] Zach is actually way more in shape than that. So let's do it again.
[00:26:54] I was like, I am out of breath doing these squats right now.
[00:26:59] So, yeah, just so it was it was the best.
[00:27:02] So to piggyback on that really quick, like one of one of our
[00:27:06] one of my mutuals on Twitter that has pretty much joined
[00:27:10] just about every one of these episodes.
[00:27:13] They weren't able to make today because they're working, but
[00:27:17] for our center, Corp.
[00:27:19] One to ask the question, though, is when it went to bring Zach to life,
[00:27:22] right? Yeah. Did you what was your method to bringing Zach to life?
[00:27:26] Or did you just kind of lean into the director
[00:27:30] and let them kind of guide you through all of it
[00:27:34] and just kind of do what they wanted you to do?
[00:27:36] Yeah. So, I mean, there was definitely a sense of like
[00:27:39] the imposter syndrome of being part of such a big game
[00:27:44] and a well-loved character, you know, as well as Zach.
[00:27:47] Thankfully, with with Christ's score, we got to do a deep dive.
[00:27:50] I got to watch all of Rick Gomez's scenes,
[00:27:53] who was amazing, the original Zach.
[00:27:56] And I got to talk through with Kirk, like what we felt like the intention
[00:28:00] was with Zach, you know, what was he what was he thinking or feeling?
[00:28:04] You know, for each line, we literally walked one line and watched the scenes.
[00:28:09] But then they really they let me take that as like data
[00:28:12] and then bring my own take on it.
[00:28:14] And like I said, there were sometimes I would try something
[00:28:17] and they'd be like, no, it's more in this area.
[00:28:19] And then other times I would try something different.
[00:28:21] They're like, oh, my gosh, let's explore that more, you know, and see,
[00:28:25] see where we go with that.
[00:28:26] So it was just a really fun learning process of getting to see
[00:28:31] what had come before with Rick, but also like feeling the freedom
[00:28:35] to bring my own interpretation, which is just like a dream for an actor
[00:28:39] is you have someone who's done the role before and is so well loved
[00:28:43] and then also getting to bring your own spin is there's nothing better than that.
[00:28:48] And so let me ask this, would you mention that,
[00:28:51] you know, playing games and stuff like that, had you played FF seven?
[00:28:56] No, growing up.
[00:28:57] No, I had not played it.
[00:28:58] My brothers are big gamers.
[00:29:00] I'm a terrible gamer, even thankfully with Square Enix is amazing.
[00:29:05] And when the games come out, you know, they send us the game.
[00:29:07] So we get to play them now.
[00:29:09] And even even playing now, like I need my wife
[00:29:13] to beat some of the levels in some of the battles
[00:29:15] because I am not able to be.
[00:29:17] Oh, that's awesome.
[00:29:18] Yeah.
[00:29:19] I don't think I've ever admitted that before.
[00:29:23] This is what happens in real life.
[00:29:25] But let's just let's be honest.
[00:29:26] So Vic even Vicks admitted he's never played the game.
[00:29:29] He's never even seen it.
[00:29:30] He just kind of basically got cast as song and that was it.
[00:29:33] He's like, oh, yeah, yeah.
[00:29:36] And he crushes in song.
[00:29:38] And that took me forever to learn the pronunciation of some
[00:29:42] we like spent so much time.
[00:29:44] Yeah. There would also be like breaks
[00:29:47] where we would have like, you know, maybe a two week break
[00:29:50] in between recording because they were needing to get the Japanese files sorted.
[00:29:54] Oh, some of those breaks.
[00:29:55] I would go back to Texas, see my family.
[00:29:57] And when I come back, I would get hounded in the booth
[00:30:00] because they're like, Zach is not from Texas.
[00:30:03] We need to cut this.
[00:30:04] Anytime I'm around family, my accent gets a little thicker.
[00:30:09] So we actually speaking of drawing inspiration, you know, from Rick, right?
[00:30:13] Roosevelt, some zero in the chat just asked,
[00:30:18] you know, did you take any inspiration,
[00:30:21] you know, for your performance from the Japanese actor?
[00:30:25] That is who asked that.
[00:30:26] That is such a great question.
[00:30:27] Roosevelt, 7707, 7707, 770.
[00:30:31] Are you a voice actor?
[00:30:32] Like, I'm so impressed that you would ask that.
[00:30:35] So welcome to welcome to some of our audience.
[00:30:39] Sometimes they ask a lot of this stuff.
[00:30:42] So cool. OK, that's a great tough question
[00:30:46] because we definitely they would record the Japanese before we recorded the English.
[00:30:51] So, you know, for every line, they would play the Japanese before.
[00:30:56] But it was mainly to match the timing
[00:30:58] because we had to match the lip movements, the Japanese.
[00:31:02] So if Zach's line, you know, is like, hey, where are you going?
[00:31:06] We would hear the Japanese.
[00:31:07] And in my head, it would be more just to take in the timing of the line.
[00:31:12] And then I'd say like nine times out of 10, they were like,
[00:31:15] don't do what the Japanese is doing because it's just a different
[00:31:18] performative style.
[00:31:19] Like they want to do the English version to feel very real and grounded.
[00:31:23] And the Japanese is just a little more broad.
[00:31:26] So there definitely were a couple of times that I tried to go in that direction.
[00:31:30] And they're like, no.
[00:31:32] So I'd say it was more it was more just to figure out,
[00:31:35] figure out the timing. But that is an amazing question.
[00:31:38] I'm just asked out of all the lines you did as Zach.
[00:31:42] Yeah, either remake, rebirth, reunion.
[00:31:46] And I'm going to throw in first soldier to you because you are
[00:31:48] you had some lines for Zach in that as well.
[00:31:50] Right. Is what were what were some of your favorite lines?
[00:31:55] Oh, my gosh.
[00:31:57] My favorite day recording was probably the line in crisis core.
[00:32:02] When Zach says, I'm blanking on what he says right before,
[00:32:05] but then he's like, he just ate my hair.
[00:32:08] If you guys have played the game, there's this one scene where Zach's hair
[00:32:12] is getting eaten. And it was like, I think we probably spent 15 minutes
[00:32:17] just like dying laughing in the booth, all of us that were there.
[00:32:20] That was so that one definitely stands out to me.
[00:32:25] Probably I'd say what was really cool and like very rare
[00:32:28] that you get to do as an actor is Zach.
[00:32:31] Whenever he says the embrace your dreams,
[00:32:33] Zach, whenever he says the embrace your dreams line,
[00:32:36] which is the line that he's really known for.
[00:32:38] We recorded that for remake.
[00:32:40] And like I said, it was like I auditioned.
[00:32:42] I didn't know what the project was.
[00:32:44] They told me the project and then right in that week recording.
[00:32:48] So there wasn't the most amount of time to research.
[00:32:52] Zach, it was just kind of going with like what the team was giving me
[00:32:55] in the booth.
[00:32:57] But then we got to redo that scene for crisis core
[00:33:00] because the scene is in crisis core as well.
[00:33:03] So it was just so cool to come back at it like a year and a half later
[00:33:06] after having recorded all of crisis core Zach's backstory
[00:33:11] and then getting to the last scene of the game,
[00:33:13] you know, where he says that it's the same scene,
[00:33:16] but it's in the game as well.
[00:33:17] And it was just so cool to get to visit it a year
[00:33:21] and a half later and feel like I knew Zach so much more,
[00:33:25] you know, after spending every day with the character
[00:33:28] for the last year and a half.
[00:33:30] So I'd say that really stuck out to me.
[00:33:32] And that was cool just to, yeah, to kind of take another
[00:33:37] take another stab at it.
[00:33:38] And I was really proud of where how that one turned out.
[00:33:42] That's cool, man. Do you feel like over time that you start becoming
[00:33:46] you start getting the personality?
[00:33:48] Yeah. Of Zach and just spit, you know what, like,
[00:33:51] yeah, I know exactly what what he's going to do at this point.
[00:33:56] You know, like when you have the line, you're like, oh, yeah, dude,
[00:33:58] he's going to be like, well, you're right.
[00:33:59] Are you more comfortable with the character now?
[00:34:01] Yeah, right. So much time with him.
[00:34:03] Those are great questions.
[00:34:05] I compare it to like hanging with my wife.
[00:34:08] You know, when we were first dating, it's like getting to know Megan.
[00:34:12] And now we've been married for this is our fifth year.
[00:34:15] And I'm able like, you know, if something's
[00:34:18] if we're laughing about something, a lot of times I'm able to guess
[00:34:21] what Megan's going to say just because I know her so well, you know.
[00:34:24] And it's the same when you're in the booth or that's your
[00:34:27] that's my day job is in a booth, you know, Monday through Friday.
[00:34:31] Learning this character, being this character.
[00:34:34] I mean, there's times in the booths when the director would have me
[00:34:37] close my eyes and actually act out whatever Zach was doing, you know.
[00:34:40] So you're actually like putting on the character.
[00:34:44] There's no way that you can't not like it.
[00:34:47] He becomes part of you and vice versa.
[00:34:49] You know, there's a part of you that is now part of him as well,
[00:34:52] which is really cool.
[00:34:54] So what's it what's it feel like for you?
[00:34:56] Like coming into this like kind of, you know, essentially brand new.
[00:35:00] Yeah. To the fandom of FF seven, right?
[00:35:03] What's it feel like to take on, you know, a character
[00:35:08] to the level of Zach that
[00:35:10] you know, when you look at how the character is now in the whole FF
[00:35:14] seven remake project, right, versus the fandom,
[00:35:18] how does it feel to run into, you know, to kind of see those reactions
[00:35:21] and what you've done for a lot of people in bringing this character
[00:35:25] to life that is so beloved to them?
[00:35:27] OK, that was you guys asked the best questions.
[00:35:30] Can we do this every night?
[00:35:33] I choose the night, Caleb.
[00:35:35] I mean, we've already said, hey, all our guests have,
[00:35:39] you know, pretty much open invitations to crash game.
[00:35:42] I'm coming every night, guys.
[00:35:44] Can we do a crashing game night every night?
[00:35:46] Do we need to get down?
[00:35:49] I wish we've got little league and swim lessons
[00:35:52] and school for another couple of weeks.
[00:35:55] That was yeah, that was such a great question.
[00:35:57] So I received some advice like as we were working on the game
[00:36:01] of just not to and it was a big reason why I got off of social media
[00:36:04] is because you know how your feet is, is like the second
[00:36:07] you look up something, the entire feed and some really good advice
[00:36:11] I got from a voice over actor who I really just respected
[00:36:15] and has worked on Final Fantasy.
[00:36:17] And he just said, like, if I were you, I would stay off of
[00:36:21] stay off of social media, because if you go after like
[00:36:25] the good feedback, you also have to take into account
[00:36:28] the poor feedback and it can mess up your performance
[00:36:32] because then when you're in the booth, you're thinking like,
[00:36:34] oh, my gosh, this one person said that Zach sounded too nasally.
[00:36:37] You know, now I need to change that.
[00:36:38] And then it's it's not bringing what you originally brought,
[00:36:41] you know, to the audition and the reason that they chose you.
[00:36:43] So I received some advice to kind of stay back from social media.
[00:36:46] So I honestly, you know, I got to work on the game
[00:36:50] and then Crisis Corps for a year and a half.
[00:36:53] And didn't like I wasn't checking online
[00:36:56] to see how the game was being received.
[00:36:58] I got to play the game, but I wasn't like checking in
[00:37:01] to see how others were liking it.
[00:37:03] Well, I mean, what do you point, Caleb, right?
[00:37:06] When you're talking about like ignoring that, right?
[00:37:08] Yeah. It is when everybody was announced for FF7 remake,
[00:37:13] there was massive backlash.
[00:37:15] Yeah. On the FF7 community, because they all wanted advent children.
[00:37:18] Yeah. You know, and even then, when the first game came out,
[00:37:21] there was a lot of hate because everyone was like,
[00:37:24] well, it's got to be advent children.
[00:37:25] It can't be, you know, anybody else. Yeah.
[00:37:28] But I will say is I have to give all of you credit,
[00:37:30] you know, the whole entire cast for ignoring that.
[00:37:34] Yeah.
[00:37:35] Negativity and moving forward because truthfully.
[00:37:40] Yeah. I mean, because truthfully, it.
[00:37:43] It's been amazing what everyone's brought to every single character.
[00:37:47] Right. I haven't played crisis core yet. Yeah.
[00:37:50] I'm going to go, I can go back to it and retry it
[00:37:53] because I never played it originally.
[00:37:55] I didn't play the original, so it would be brand new for me.
[00:37:57] But I mean, for me,
[00:38:00] I can remember my senior year in high school, you know,
[00:38:02] right after my senior year is when FF7 came out on the PlayStation.
[00:38:06] Like I can remember going to my game store and buying it like,
[00:38:10] you know, that's kind of like my senior gift to myself.
[00:38:13] But, you know, it's one of those things that rebirth specifically,
[00:38:18] because I'm a lot farther than everybody in our group. Right.
[00:38:23] Other than, you know, our our unofficial fifth members finished it.
[00:38:26] But like I am on the last chapter now. Yeah.
[00:38:29] I'm in that that very last home stretch and even the scenes
[00:38:34] as they've been doing those those scenes with Zach and Eric and Cloud
[00:38:38] and all and Elmira. It's like.
[00:38:41] What you've brought to Zach is justified for all the love
[00:38:45] that they're giving you for bringing that character of life,
[00:38:48] because it's bringing a point.
[00:38:50] You know, it's it's a character that we know from playing
[00:38:53] the original game, the importance of what Zach is to that game.
[00:38:57] Yeah. Right.
[00:38:58] But you have brought more of a human aspect to Zach.
[00:39:03] And we see more of that side than we we couldn't have just,
[00:39:07] you know, just reading text.
[00:39:08] You gave him more depth and more and more of a so it's
[00:39:11] the performance as far as I am.
[00:39:14] I'm just it's just really me more into
[00:39:17] I can't wait to see more actually.
[00:39:20] Oh, thank you guys.
[00:39:21] Thanks for me, especially the scenes
[00:39:24] I just finished at the end of Chapter 13.
[00:39:27] I'm not going to say what happens.
[00:39:29] That's for everybody to go experience for themselves.
[00:39:32] We've done very good.
[00:39:33] VK, that is for you because you gave me
[00:39:36] because we were talking with Paul and he mentioned area
[00:39:40] and you know, we didn't spoil anything in that show.
[00:39:43] You remember, we were very, very good about not spoiling anything.
[00:39:45] And I got a buddy of ours, VK Marion, who's a comic book artist.
[00:39:49] He used to work for DC and stuff like that.
[00:39:50] He's drawn some FF seven stuff, but he literally texts me mid
[00:39:54] while he's watching the show.
[00:39:55] He's like, I had to stop this because you guys are spoiling stuff.
[00:39:58] And I'm like, we weren't spoiling anything.
[00:40:00] So that's for you. I love it.
[00:40:01] That's for you. Right. Yeah, that's awesome. But
[00:40:05] you know, but it's just you've brought
[00:40:08] so much depth and humanity to Zach that has made me care
[00:40:13] way more about the character.
[00:40:16] And I now understand.
[00:40:18] And Jason and I were kind of on the same page with
[00:40:22] with how remake ended and stuff.
[00:40:23] Yeah. But now I understand where all of that has come into play
[00:40:28] through everything with rebirth.
[00:40:30] Oh, yeah. You know, because it was it was that that ending
[00:40:34] divided the fan base.
[00:40:36] Because of where they were going. But I get it.
[00:40:37] So, yeah, it is.
[00:40:40] It's one of those things that your guys' performances.
[00:40:43] I think if you guys had listened to all the hate,
[00:40:46] we wouldn't have the epic performances
[00:40:49] that we've had in rebirth.
[00:40:50] Oh, because rebirth has taken everything to a whole new level.
[00:40:53] Yeah, I totally agree.
[00:40:56] I think what they've done on rebirth and yeah,
[00:40:59] you know, if you listen to those voices, it just it traps you.
[00:41:02] You know, and then you can just, you know,
[00:41:05] and then you can't like your whole job is to be creative
[00:41:08] and to take risks and to sometimes fail.
[00:41:11] You know, that's how you find the best work is by being willing to fail.
[00:41:15] And if you have that voice in the back of your head,
[00:41:18] it could just it can take away from that.
[00:41:19] So thankfully, you know, I got that advice.
[00:41:22] But the absolute best was John Bentley connected me with Alex
[00:41:28] who runs Kubo Khan, which are, you know, conventions across the world.
[00:41:31] And I got to go to my first one,
[00:41:35] maybe like a year and a half ago, a year now.
[00:41:38] It was in London.
[00:41:39] And that was the first time I actually met people
[00:41:42] that had played the game and loved the game.
[00:41:43] That's why I just met Paul.
[00:41:44] We were just at the last one together.
[00:41:46] And it was just like it made me
[00:41:51] choke up and emotional in a way that I wasn't expecting.
[00:41:54] Just because you see these people that, you know,
[00:41:56] I was meeting people in line that had Zach tattoos across their whole body.
[00:42:00] You know, oh, that's cool.
[00:42:01] Yeah, it was just like it was surreal.
[00:42:04] And just to hear people say, you know,
[00:42:07] it wasn't the negative feedback from when the cast first came out.
[00:42:10] It was people that had played the game and that it had changed their lives.
[00:42:13] You know, the game had.
[00:42:15] And just to be a part of that was just like it just feels like a gift,
[00:42:18] a gift from God.
[00:42:19] So well, to that point, right?
[00:42:22] Roe Roosevelt brought up
[00:42:24] said, I will say that I was taken aback by your voice
[00:42:26] when you first showed up.
[00:42:28] But as I got to see your performance more through CC,
[00:42:31] as in crisis, court and rebirth,
[00:42:33] they said, I love you as Zach and can't wait to hear more.
[00:42:36] Oh, Rosalind.
[00:42:38] Actually, I love when I hear that.
[00:42:41] I had someone come up and tell me that at KuboCon.
[00:42:42] They're like, hey, I got to tell you, I was a hater online
[00:42:46] and I was saying some things and they said, you know,
[00:42:49] but after playing the game, I just am really glad that you're,
[00:42:53] you know, honoree.
[00:42:54] That's that's music to my ears. So thank you.
[00:42:59] Hey, guys. So last night we had some technical difficulties,
[00:43:02] but I want to keep this part of the interview with Caleb in any episode.
[00:43:08] So to give some context, we had asked the question what it was like
[00:43:10] to be on the set of The Big Bang Theory and Veep.
[00:43:15] So the following is what Caleb answered with
[00:43:19] as well as the end of the episode. Enjoy.
[00:43:22] Anytime you hear the last in the background.
[00:43:25] First, I think it was so fun because my parents got to come out to the tapings,
[00:43:30] which was a blast having the cast was so kind and came up
[00:43:34] and introduced themselves to my parents and was we're just awesome.
[00:43:38] But yeah, it was crazy watching them work.
[00:43:41] And so, you know, they get the script on a Tuesday.
[00:43:45] And then I think the schedule was we would rehearse like Wednesday,
[00:43:49] Thursday, Friday, and then Monday we shot it.
[00:43:52] So they shoot it like a play in order.
[00:43:55] But that cast was just so fun.
[00:43:57] So, you know, like I played one of the cast her assistant at her office
[00:44:03] and just so encouraging after takes it being like, oh, my gosh,
[00:44:06] that was so funny when you said this, like, keep that, you know,
[00:44:10] just very like welcoming, just like you guys have been just very welcome
[00:44:14] to the family, which yeah, it wasn't I mean,
[00:44:18] they were getting paid a million an episode.
[00:44:20] And, you know, I'm sure it would be easy for them
[00:44:23] to just be off doing their own thing, but just so inclusive.
[00:44:26] And that was definitely a highlight since being out here was
[00:44:29] was working with them and then getting to go back was awesome.
[00:44:32] Oh, that's awesome.
[00:44:34] I mean, and I had to look up,
[00:44:36] I had to look up because I've watched all of the Big Bang
[00:44:39] and I enjoyed that show.
[00:44:40] I was like, where is Caleb in it?
[00:44:42] And I was like, so I was like, oh,
[00:44:45] yeah, just what popping in as the water guy was.
[00:44:49] Yeah, exactly. Literally.
[00:44:52] Yeah, but it was so fun.
[00:44:54] And then V was so different because how they should be on that set, man.
[00:44:58] Oh, my gosh.
[00:44:59] The comedy power, that cast and that comedy power.
[00:45:02] Reasy.
[00:45:03] Oh, both both a big bang and beat.
[00:45:06] But like, oh, man.
[00:45:08] Yeah. Yeah. I can't wait to hear.
[00:45:10] I remember calling Megan after I got off set for V.
[00:45:14] And I was like, I don't think they can use any of my takes
[00:45:17] because I was laughing so hard.
[00:45:19] Like any time we film, I'm like, I've been trained not to laugh.
[00:45:23] I'm laughing.
[00:45:24] But what they what was so hard in the best way is they had,
[00:45:28] you know, the script for the episode and we would film,
[00:45:32] you know, a scene how it was written.
[00:45:34] And then they would just let the actors just play,
[00:45:36] you know, just improvise, make up whatever they wanted.
[00:45:39] And we probably did like 12 different takes, you know, from each angle.
[00:45:43] And so you were hearing you never knew what you were going to hear.
[00:45:46] And they just they were amazing.
[00:45:48] And again, like a master class, getting to watch them was awesome.
[00:45:51] Yeah, I heard the atmosphere on set was like, yeah, they have a script,
[00:45:57] but it's it's like they will they'll go to it if they need to.
[00:46:01] But like it was really freeform.
[00:46:03] Like, OK, this is the scenario.
[00:46:05] Yeah. Let's work.
[00:46:07] I love I love that kind of collaboration on the set.
[00:46:09] And it's yeah.
[00:46:11] I watch I always watch the behind the scenes.
[00:46:13] I love me.
[00:46:14] I thought it was such a clever show. Right.
[00:46:17] It followed the kind of the same formula as like
[00:46:21] the office and Parks and Rec.
[00:46:24] I love those two shows, too.
[00:46:25] So that just gravitated me towards VEEP.
[00:46:27] And yeah, man, I just want to know like, yeah, I mean, everybody on that.
[00:46:32] So funny. Yeah.
[00:46:34] Yeah. So welcoming and just yeah, it was I remember Tony Hale.
[00:46:39] I shot it. I did a scene with him and we were walking back
[00:46:42] like because we had rap for the day.
[00:46:44] And I just asked him, I was like, what advice would you give,
[00:46:46] you know, to an actor who wants to be doing this full time?
[00:46:50] And he just said, you just have to remember,
[00:46:52] this is not where your worth comes from.
[00:46:54] And I just thought that was just so powerful is like your job.
[00:46:57] You know, the first thing that we asked in L.A.
[00:47:00] is what do you do for work?
[00:47:01] And just yeah, someone just say that's not your worth at all.
[00:47:05] Is, you know, your job or what you've accomplished
[00:47:08] was just so just insightful and amazing.
[00:47:12] That's cool. That's very sage advice.
[00:47:14] I like that, too. Right. Yeah.
[00:47:16] Yeah, I love that. I like that. Yeah.
[00:47:18] So speaking of sage like advice, what if if someone
[00:47:21] or approach you and say, hey, I'm looking at getting
[00:47:23] either into acting or voiceover?
[00:47:25] Great segue. What is that age like?
[00:47:28] Yeah, I think a comment really on the segues, Matt.
[00:47:31] I don't know how you've done that.
[00:47:33] But anything I've said, you're like, yes, speaking of that.
[00:47:36] Let me ask this. That's very, very impressive.
[00:47:39] Yeah. Oh, guys.
[00:47:41] Yeah. Wait, wait, wait.
[00:47:42] Yeah. Wait.
[00:47:46] Wait, what was the question?
[00:47:48] I was so thinking about those that sage like advice, right?
[00:47:52] That you've received from others, right?
[00:47:54] Is if someone were to come to you and say, hey,
[00:47:56] I'm thinking about getting into acting or voiceover.
[00:48:00] What would be your your advice that you would give them?
[00:48:05] Yeah, I would say you just have to do it because you love it,
[00:48:10] you know, and go after it for that, not for a job or a booking.
[00:48:13] And, you know, when I think of booking Zach,
[00:48:16] which has been like the game changer for me out here.
[00:48:19] You know, I started on in 2019 and it's 2024 now.
[00:48:22] It's just the job that keeps on giving, you know,
[00:48:25] and has connected me with John Bentley,
[00:48:28] you guys going to conventions.
[00:48:31] I was not like going after like, I have to get this role.
[00:48:35] I have to be doing this.
[00:48:36] It was just I was the right guy at the right time,
[00:48:40] you know, and I didn't it's not like I was emailing my agent.
[00:48:43] Is there any way you can get me in for Final Fantasy?
[00:48:45] Like it was just going where the doors open, you know,
[00:48:47] and trusting that.
[00:48:49] And I think that'd be my biggest advice
[00:48:51] because you just see out here just the grind of just this like,
[00:48:54] I got to get ahead.
[00:48:54] I've got to do, you know,
[00:48:56] and I think if you just kind of take a step back
[00:48:59] and just are like, okay, God, my hands are open.
[00:49:02] You know, I've done the work that I can do
[00:49:05] and trust the doors that open.
[00:49:06] It just is the most freeing thing
[00:49:08] and it's the most fun thing too
[00:49:10] because then you start getting jobs like being Zach,
[00:49:13] which I would have never dreamed of
[00:49:15] and now it's my favorite thing I've done out here.
[00:49:19] That's awesome, man.
[00:49:21] So Jason, you've got a question you want to ask.
[00:49:23] Yeah, one of our listeners out there,
[00:49:26] one of the people in the chat.
[00:49:30] Apparently her screen name is Kitties in Middies.
[00:49:36] Okay, can you give a,
[00:49:37] Caleb, if you don't mind,
[00:49:38] could you give like a little shout out maybe in the Zach voice?
[00:49:41] Yes.
[00:49:42] Shout out to Kitties in Middies.
[00:49:44] Kitties in Middies.
[00:49:45] Yes, I'd love to.
[00:49:46] Okay, let me get in the voice.
[00:49:48] He says, yeah, I don't know.
[00:49:51] Okay, Kitties in Middies,
[00:49:54] I hope that you embrace your dreams
[00:49:58] and whatever happens,
[00:50:00] you protect your honor as a gamer.
[00:50:06] Nice.
[00:50:07] Thank you so much.
[00:50:08] That's awesome.
[00:50:09] Oh my gosh, I love that.
[00:50:11] I love that.
[00:50:11] It definitely is.
[00:50:14] Again, it's one of the things that we all collect over as gamers,
[00:50:17] you know, just the love and a lot of us in chat right now
[00:50:23] you know showing so much love for Zach.
[00:50:25] I mean, it's just.
[00:50:27] You guys, I just have to thank you guys for just like John called me
[00:50:32] and called me about the game night.
[00:50:35] That's awesome.
[00:50:36] John called me and told me about the game night
[00:50:38] and just to meet people like this that are just so welcoming,
[00:50:42] inclusive, just have a heart for, you know,
[00:50:44] the commonality of just loving storytelling and characters
[00:50:47] and I just think what you guys are doing here.
[00:50:50] You guys made me feel just so at ease
[00:50:53] and like I had known y'all even tonight, you know,
[00:50:56] of just like you guys there's we always say
[00:50:59] there's two types of people that walk into a room
[00:51:01] either someone that says here I am or there you are
[00:51:04] and you guys all three of you guys are very
[00:51:06] there you are type people and it's just like that's it.
[00:51:09] Thank you, man.
[00:51:10] You know so much there you are.
[00:51:12] So thank you guys for blessing us and bringing, you know,
[00:51:15] of all the on behalf of all the Final Fantasy guys
[00:51:18] thank you guys for being a blessing to us
[00:51:20] because this is awesome.
[00:51:21] Thank you, bro.
[00:51:22] It's been honestly it's and that's we talk about
[00:51:25] like the family dinner right but that it really is family.
[00:51:28] Yeah, it literally is.
[00:51:30] I literally have a group chat going with Austin, Vic,
[00:51:33] Mallory and John like all just text chat
[00:51:35] and that's how we kind of line things up and whatnot
[00:51:38] and yeah, like when we talked about it, you know,
[00:51:42] John being on us, you know, on a speaker phone call
[00:51:46] with my wife and I when we're in the delivery room,
[00:51:48] you know, it's like for our youngest
[00:51:50] like giving us a prayer kind of like we did
[00:51:52] a couple weeks ago.
[00:51:53] Yeah, you know, it's stuff like that.
[00:51:55] That's what everybody kind of means to me.
[00:51:58] It's like it's not just oh, you're your your guess, right?
[00:52:01] Like honestly, for the most part, like I can sit there
[00:52:05] and message just about everybody we've been on
[00:52:08] like have been on this show and it's like we,
[00:52:11] you know, we catch back up.
[00:52:12] We talk we hey how the kids doing stuff like that.
[00:52:15] Right.
[00:52:15] And that's the thing is we this is a job.
[00:52:18] Right.
[00:52:19] And I think that's what a lot of people don't understand
[00:52:21] is that this is just a job for you guys.
[00:52:24] Just like I'm in IT Jerry's, you know,
[00:52:27] now with Apple and Jason's over at a,
[00:52:31] you know, discount warehouse.
[00:52:32] Big business.
[00:52:35] But but it's just, you know, you have to treat everybody,
[00:52:39] you know, just like they're just any other individual.
[00:52:41] Yes, granted, you're in Final Fantasy, which is huge by all,
[00:52:45] you know, but at the end of the day,
[00:52:48] you're still a person.
[00:52:49] Yeah.
[00:52:50] It's still a job.
[00:52:51] You still have a life you saw.
[00:52:52] You still go through anxiety, depression, excitement, friends,
[00:52:56] all of that.
[00:52:56] Like, that's our approach.
[00:52:57] You know, you're the person that,
[00:53:00] but and that's the part that we want to get to know.
[00:53:03] And, you know, that's how eventually we befriend you.
[00:53:07] And that's why you're part of the family, man.
[00:53:10] And yeah, thanks for saying it.
[00:53:11] It's just so thank you.
[00:53:14] Yeah.
[00:53:15] And I think and I'll expand on Matt too,
[00:53:17] like a lot of our approach and we'll shout it out
[00:53:21] for all the viewers out there too is because Moe's been on
[00:53:23] the show.
[00:53:24] So Moe has been on the show.
[00:53:25] He knows too.
[00:53:26] Big Moe.
[00:53:27] A lot of us, what we do is because we could go through
[00:53:30] the whole motions of like asking you the same 15,
[00:53:34] 25 questions, you know, that a lot of interviewers do.
[00:53:37] But we're like, hey, you know what?
[00:53:38] Your people get tired of hearing that at the same time.
[00:53:41] We're like, hey, you know what?
[00:53:42] Like, what, you know, what did you do last week?
[00:53:46] You know, like in the two weeks since we saw you, Caleb,
[00:53:48] you know, it's been, you know, it's been rainy lately.
[00:53:51] Honestly, just been dreaming out Lucille's draw.
[00:53:53] I know.
[00:53:55] I'm planning that scene.
[00:53:56] You know, we'll do it, man.
[00:53:58] We'll get it.
[00:54:01] Why?
[00:54:01] I mean, why did we have to even talk about that?
[00:54:03] Because I've been trying to figure out a time to come out
[00:54:05] and it's like.
[00:54:07] Every time I mentioned Lucille's or I went to the other place.
[00:54:13] I don't want to say it.
[00:54:14] Wait, what's the other place?
[00:54:17] If you ever come down to Long Beach, we'll take it.
[00:54:21] There's this local spot that I've been going to
[00:54:22] since I was like 12.
[00:54:25] It's called Nick's Deli and it has like the best
[00:54:29] breakfast burritos for me in Long Beach.
[00:54:31] Like that's the place that like,
[00:54:36] yeah, it's that nostalgia thing.
[00:54:38] It really is just a good deli.
[00:54:40] Like they have great sandwiches.
[00:54:42] Oh no, it's fantastic.
[00:54:43] And it's just like, yeah, every time I'm craving
[00:54:45] a breakfast burrito, it's like, it's a good deli.
[00:54:48] It's a really good one.
[00:54:49] And they only have two locations.
[00:54:51] Dude, and they do breakfast too.
[00:54:52] They do a fantastic breakfast.
[00:54:54] Can we do family breakfast there?
[00:54:56] I'm down.
[00:54:57] I'm down.
[00:54:59] Are you flying out for it?
[00:55:01] We got to figure out timing wise.
[00:55:03] I want to try and I was trying to make it.
[00:55:05] So when Paul was, but we've got 4th of July
[00:55:08] and then you've got the baby coming and like.
[00:55:10] Would you guys already promised me
[00:55:11] you'd be in the delivery room?
[00:55:14] So I'm counting on that.
[00:55:15] What's the official due date?
[00:55:17] July 7th.
[00:55:18] Okay.
[00:55:19] Okay.
[00:55:19] Oh, that's when I was looking at making that.
[00:55:22] Yeah, we'll see.
[00:55:25] But anyway, so before we ask the one question
[00:55:28] we ask of all of our guests that every episode,
[00:55:30] every time we have the first time they're on
[00:55:33] first time, first time they're on with themselves.
[00:55:36] Mo did ask one more request.
[00:55:39] One more.
[00:55:40] Okay.
[00:55:41] He has a friend, Lady Rain.
[00:55:44] Okay.
[00:55:46] And he asked if you could just send out
[00:55:49] a shout out in Zach's voice.
[00:55:51] Yeah.
[00:55:52] I would love to do that.
[00:55:53] Let me get what's crazy is so in crisis core,
[00:55:57] Zach starts out so young and then he gets,
[00:56:00] you know, mature throughout the year.
[00:56:02] So there's kind of two different versions of the voice.
[00:56:04] So let me see.
[00:56:04] Let me get back to like his like when he's starting out
[00:56:07] and it's Lady Rain.
[00:56:09] Yes.
[00:56:09] Yeah.
[00:56:10] Okay.
[00:56:11] Hang on.
[00:56:11] Let me say like a let me say Zach line really quick
[00:56:13] and get into it.
[00:56:16] And Jill, what does that even mean?
[00:56:20] Lady Rain.
[00:56:21] Hey, it's me, Zach.
[00:56:23] I hope you're doing amazing and that you're becoming
[00:56:25] a first class soldier.
[00:56:27] It'd be awesome to do that together.
[00:56:29] All right.
[00:56:30] Talk to you soon.
[00:56:31] See ya.
[00:56:33] Nice.
[00:56:36] There you go, Mo.
[00:56:37] Yes.
[00:56:42] I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to get mo crap.
[00:56:44] Don't you ever dare say we don't love you, Mo.
[00:56:46] Yeah, come on.
[00:56:47] That's awesome.
[00:56:48] That's right, Mo.
[00:56:49] Don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you don't you
[00:56:50] know, honestly, we've known for for years.
[00:56:53] Um, even, you know, I mean, he was kind of free.
[00:56:55] He was kind of there since the beginning too.
[00:56:57] Yeah, he's been around.
[00:56:59] Yeah, ever since we met.
[00:57:00] He's been around.
[00:57:01] What is Mo's last name?
[00:57:04] Um, no, he goes by my name.
[00:57:07] Actually, no, we know.
[00:57:07] So honestly, okay, so real quick back, sorry, Mo chocolate.
[00:57:11] Um, that's what he goes by.
[00:57:14] It's what they he went by on the testers.
[00:57:16] So PlayStation had PlayStation had this kind of like reality show
[00:57:22] where you actually went through and kind of did like the reality TV type thing
[00:57:27] where they have eliminations and stuff and you've got to be a tester at the end of it.
[00:57:30] So that's how kind of I I came to know Mo, you know, as far as knew who he was from that
[00:57:37] that show and it was one of those things Jerry and I standing in line at infinity
[00:57:42] is talking about that.
[00:57:43] That's how it kind of sparked our conversation.
[00:57:45] That's what started.
[00:57:47] What was there?
[00:57:48] You know, we met Diddy and everything.
[00:57:50] So and then I pointed out Sky Diddy was here and I think that's what started like,
[00:57:54] oh, you're a fan of the tester.
[00:57:55] Like, yeah, dude, dude, like Mo chocolate and so and so's here.
[00:58:00] And like, that's what kind of started our conversation.
[00:58:03] And then, yeah, that's how it all started, man.
[00:58:06] That's really, really cool.
[00:58:07] Yeah.
[00:58:07] Yep.
[00:58:08] So real quick.
[00:58:09] So one thing we ask of all of our listeners is that when you when you are able to have
[00:58:16] a game night with family and friends, yeah.
[00:58:19] What is your favorite game to play?
[00:58:20] Whether it's board game, card game, whatever it is.
[00:58:22] But what is your favorite game to play?
[00:58:24] I love have you all played running charades running.
[00:58:28] Sure.
[00:58:28] Just like, oh, sure.
[00:58:29] It's like that.
[00:58:30] We didn't play that.
[00:58:31] OK, so it's like charades.
[00:58:33] OK.
[00:58:34] Teams.
[00:58:35] And you have there's one person who gives like whatever it is, you know, so if you're
[00:58:39] acting out like Final Fantasy is a clue.
[00:58:42] Two teams when you say go, one person from each team runs, gets the clue, goes back,
[00:58:47] you know, acts it out.
[00:58:48] And then once this, you know, one of the teams guesses they run and get the next clue.
[00:58:53] And so it's the first team that gets through like, you know, all 10 and it's a blast.
[00:58:57] And you're out of words.
[00:59:00] Next time I see you guys at Lucille's, we are playing running charades.
[00:59:05] No, I'm down.
[00:59:06] I'm down.
[00:59:06] I was like, yo, it sounds like charades, but I was like, OK, but like, yeah.
[00:59:09] Yeah, yeah.
[00:59:10] We're the truth.
[00:59:11] OK.
[00:59:13] Can you imagine adding in Austin to that?
[00:59:16] Oh, my gosh.
[00:59:17] I mean, all of us, not going to lie.
[00:59:20] I mean, like we're gamers, Caleb.
[00:59:22] Come on.
[00:59:23] Man, what's going on?
[00:59:24] Look, I know that we're out of time, but now I have to know what is y'all.
[00:59:27] What is y'all's go to game?
[00:59:28] Oh, my God.
[00:59:29] Oh, no, no, Caleb.
[00:59:31] No.
[00:59:32] I don't know.
[00:59:32] I don't know.
[00:59:33] We do.
[00:59:34] There's two.
[00:59:36] OK, there is.
[00:59:37] And Jurister, you kind of brought this up.
[00:59:39] And yes, it does count.
[00:59:40] We do in flip.
[00:59:43] What?
[00:59:45] So there is a version of Uno called.
[00:59:47] Oh, I thought you were going to say the other one out there.
[00:59:50] It's double sided cards.
[00:59:53] You have a side and a dark side.
[00:59:56] What other one?
[00:59:57] What do you do?
[00:59:58] I'm going to try to get there.
[01:00:00] There's the other part.
[01:00:01] So basically, you have to flip the deck.
[01:00:03] Yeah.
[01:00:03] Oh, whoa.
[01:00:04] I turned to the other game though.
[01:00:06] Yeah.
[01:00:07] That's so fun.
[01:00:08] The other one is how do you mean?
[01:00:12] That's a great game.
[01:00:13] And it gets brutal.
[01:00:14] I feel like we're still we're still missing a game that we all play together.
[01:00:19] Wait, Jerry, what's the game?
[01:00:20] I'm just like I'm just what is that game?
[01:00:24] Do we hate saying it?
[01:00:25] We hate saying it because so.
[01:00:27] It's very tricky.
[01:00:28] Hold on.
[01:00:30] Jerry, Jerry, I'll do it.
[01:00:32] OK.
[01:00:32] And with that, I want to thank everybody who crashed.
[01:00:39] Seriously, the game that all four of us play every time like all four of us,
[01:00:43] me, Matt, Jerry, Theo, we all play Monopoly and we have to we have to have
[01:00:51] that we have to have a set amount of games we play because we will just
[01:00:56] We'll keep going.
[01:00:58] Have you guys played Monopoly, Deal?
[01:01:01] No, but I know it's like a card version game of it, but it's like 15 minute rounds.
[01:01:06] Yeah.
[01:01:09] You can also like there's like yeah, it's fun.
[01:01:12] It's a lot of fun.
[01:01:13] We might not be able to bring it up is because currently currently.
[01:01:19] Huh?
[01:01:20] Currently?
[01:01:20] Yeah.
[01:01:21] The ring on Jerry's finger is the current champion amongst us.
[01:01:28] Yeah, it's so crazy.
[01:01:31] Wait, I love that you were wearing that ring.
[01:01:34] That's amazing.
[01:01:35] Oh, this thing.
[01:01:36] Yeah, yeah, I know.
[01:01:38] No, it was so funny.
[01:01:39] We will we played a couple tournaments already.
[01:01:43] So Jason's won before.
[01:01:46] Yeah, and that's one.
[01:01:47] Matt's won.
[01:01:49] And so we kind of got the idea like dudes, if this is going to be a tradition,
[01:01:52] we kind of should like we should have like a belt or something that we have to like mail out.
[01:01:58] If we lose like you have like if you're the winner, you have to,
[01:02:02] you know, the anticipation like, oh, I want it and then we have to mail it out.
[01:02:06] So like I'm the first one.
[01:02:08] Yeah.
[01:02:08] Next time we get together, whoever wins, I gotta I gotta mail it to whoever.
[01:02:14] So yeah.
[01:02:15] On this with that, I do think we are we are past that that hour and so on.
[01:02:21] Yes.
[01:02:21] You know, one of us has to be a dad.
[01:02:27] No, I do want to thank everybody from Mo's right now in chat.
[01:02:33] You know, thank you guys for crashing game night.
[01:02:35] For a lot of you guys, it's the first time you guys have crashed with us.
[01:02:37] So it's pretty shade you guys hung out with us.
[01:02:41] If you like what you heard, head on over to crashing game night.com.
[01:02:44] All of our past episodes are there.
[01:02:45] We have a contributors and guest tab on there where you can go in,
[01:02:50] see all the different guests we've had on, including the breath of the Final Fantasy
[01:02:54] cast that we've had.
[01:02:56] And you can go check out their past episodes right on the website.
[01:02:59] You can drop us a follow on the platform of your choice through there as well.
[01:03:04] But with that, with everything that's going on in the world,
[01:03:10] I just want to just say please be excellent to each other.
[01:03:15] That's right, everybody.
[01:03:16] All my nerds out there, all of you out there, we want to send out the
[01:03:21] that same message as usual.
[01:03:23] First off, Caleb, once again, thank you so much for joining.
[01:03:27] It was so fun.
[01:03:28] Thank you guys.
[01:03:28] Once again, man, I already, like I said, I already feel like I know you from the
[01:03:32] past episode and I'm so happy I got to have some time with you.
[01:03:35] And thank you so much for coming and open invitation as usual.
[01:03:41] All right.
[01:03:41] I'll be here every time.
[01:03:44] You have my number.
[01:03:46] But everyone's yes, as Matt said, it's kind of crazy out there.
[01:03:50] So let's just kind of once again, try and promote.
[01:03:54] Let's lend a helping hand.
[01:03:55] Let's try and practice a little bit more patience, some compassion,
[01:04:02] a little bit more kindness out there and maybe a little bit more patience again.
[01:04:08] And also, let's just try and do and be better out there and just
[01:04:14] try and help out when we can or whenever we see the opportunity
[01:04:19] and be safe out there because it is crazy.
[01:04:21] Real quick, Jay, before you do your thing, I just want to real quick
[01:04:24] programming note.
[01:04:24] We are going to be recording on Thursday next week, not Tuesday.
[01:04:29] Same time because we are going to have Julia and Eric Lee walled the original
[01:04:37] show runners for X-Men, the animated series back on the show.
[01:04:41] Now that tomorrow's episode will be out in the wild, we can talk about X-Men 97.
[01:04:48] Yes.
[01:04:54] I can't wait to talk to them again.
[01:04:56] They're so sweet.
[01:04:57] They're amazing people.
[01:04:58] So anyways, Jason.
[01:05:00] Awesome.
[01:05:01] Yeah.
[01:05:02] I mean, again, everybody out there in Chatland, thank you so much for joining us.
[01:05:06] Roosevelt, Juister, Moe, thank you for all that love.
[01:05:11] I see you out there too.
[01:05:12] I'm glad that you guys are catching us, watching us, listening to us.
[01:05:17] I know I'm without my boy, Theo tonight.
[01:05:21] It's OK.
[01:05:22] But Caleb, is there any last words you would like to give out to our audience or
[01:05:26] to anybody before we close out the show?
[01:05:29] Ice looking like she wants a little shout out to the ice.
[01:05:36] Got to go be a dad here.
[01:05:38] I'm so glad you joined.
[01:05:39] It's a school night.
[01:05:40] I just want to thank you guys for just being so welcoming and fun.
[01:05:44] And thank you guys for all tuning in and listening.
[01:05:47] And yeah, whatever dream you're going after, keep doing it because you never
[01:05:51] know when the door is going to open.
[01:05:52] So that's it.
[01:05:53] That's it for me.
[01:05:54] And with that, look at that.
[01:05:56] My dreams are going to get crushed right now because I don't have my boy Theo.
[01:06:01] Oh man, my man, my man.
[01:06:04] So I guess, you know, Jerry, you can take it away.
[01:06:08] I know how you feel about me because I do it my own way.
[01:06:11] Yeah, yeah, no, that's why I'll give you the softball.
[01:06:15] Like go ahead, Jerry, send us out like Theo.
[01:06:18] Oh my God.
[01:06:18] All right.
[01:06:19] Matt's like, I got to put some voice to that.
[01:06:21] To everyone out there, thank you for listening.
[01:06:23] Thank you for following TTFN.
